Re: xen: do not create the extra e820 region at an addr lower than 4G
I can''t find this patch on any mailing list to respond to so starting a new thread. In case I''ve not missed it but instead it really wasn''t posted -- in the future can we try and ensure that any patches have been posted at least once. Same for the pull request, it should go to a list. BTW the version in Konrad''s tree is Stefano''s 2.6.39-rc1-fixes

PATCH: Hugepage support for Domains booting with 4KB pages
We have implemented hugepage support for guests in following manner In our implementation we added a parameter hugepage_num which is specified in the config file of the DomU. It is the number of hugepages that the guest is guaranteed to receive whenever the kernel asks for hugepage by using its boot time parameter or reserving after booting (eg. Using echo XX > /proc/sys/vm/nr_hugepages).

Patch sensible callback framework
This patch adds a simple callback framework. Modified loadfile and floadfile to look for callbacks and call them if present Supports multiple callbacks Modified com32/modules/linux.c to demonstrate functionality (it's a little more complicated than it should be just to demonstrate multiple callbacks). Add progress argument to display a percentage indicator when loading. Example boot:

[PATCH] arch/x86/kernel/apic/io_apic.c: Fix for crash when apic=debug is used
Hi, Here is the patch fixing crash when apic=debug is used and APIC is not properly initialized. This issue appears during Xen Dom0 kernel boot (git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/jeremy/xen.git, xen/stable-2.6.32.x head), however I think that patch is rather generic and should be applied to mainline kernel (it applies to Linux Kernel Ver. 2.6.35 and Ver. 2.6.32.19 with small fuzz).

[3.8 Release] RC1 has been tagged
Unfortunately I'm having lots of trouble with rc1 at this point: * libcxxabi can't build, because it requires unwind.h, which we do not yet have on FreeBSD 10.x (Ed Maste is working on it for 11.x, but that is not ready for general consumption). * The test-release.sh script has no option to disable only libcxxabi, you can only disable libcxx, libcxxabi and libunwind together (maybe this

2.6.37 dom0 under Xen 4.1 clocksource not working
When booting 2.6.37 (from kernel.org) under Xen 4.1, there are apparently issues with timer interrupts being delivered to the dom0. Repeatedly causing an interrupt (for example, the ACPI power button) will allow the system to boot, as does adding "clocksource=jiffies" to the kernel command line. This is only present under Xen, not when booting the same kernel on real hardware. When boot

acpidump crashes on some machines
Hi, we have some problems with acpidump running on Xen Dom0. On 64 bit Dom0 it will trigger the OOM killer, on 32 bit Dom0s it will cause a kernel crash. The hypervisor does not matter, I tried 4.1.3-rc2 as well as various unstable versions including 25467, also 32-bit versions of 4.1. The Dom0 kernels were always PVOPS versions, the problems starts with 3.2-rc1~194 and is still in 3.5.0-rc3.

[PATCH] GSoC 2010 - Memory hotplug support for Xen guests - second fully working version - once again
Hi, I am sending this e-mail once again because it probably has been lost in abyss of Xen-devel/LKLM list. Here is the second version of memory hotplug support for Xen guests patch. This one cleanly applies to git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/jeremy/xen.git repository, xen/memory-hotplug head. Changes: - /sys/devices/system/memory/probe interface has been removed;

preparing for 4.2.3 and 4.1.6
Aiming at a release some time in August, I''d like to cut RC1-s by Thursday next week (as I''ll be on a two week vacation starting Friday). Please indicate any bug fixes that so far may have been missed in the backports already done. A few fixes are currently stuck in master''s staging branch (or pending to make it there) - these don''t need to be named explicitly,

Balloon driver for Linux/HVM
Hi, I have noticed that, in the code of linux/drivers/xen/balloon.c, there exists the snippet as this: static int __init balloon_init(void) { unsigned long pfn; struct page *page; if (!xen_pv_domain()) return -ENODEV; ..... } Does it means the driver will not work in HVM? If so, where is the HVN-enabled code for that? 2010-11-16 Rui Chu _______________________________________________

[PATCH 00 of 38] xen: add more Xen dom0 support
Hi Ingo, Here''s the chunk of patches to add Xen Dom0 support (it''s probably worth creating a new xen/dom0 topic branch for it). A dom0 Xen domain is basically the same as a normal domU domain, but it has extra privileges to directly access hardware. There are two issues to deal with: - translating to and from the domain''s pseudo-physical addresses and real machine

[PATCH 00/28] libxl: ocaml: improve the bindings
The following series of patches fill in most of the gaps in the OCaml bindings to libxl, to make them useful for clients such as xapi/xenopsd (from XCP). There are a number of bugfixes to the existing bindings as well. I have an experimental version of xenopsd that successfully uses the new bindings. An earlier version of the first half of the series was submitted to the last by Ian Campbell on
