Strange ssh thing - Keys suddenly decide to stop working.
## Hi,
## I have a script that spawns a process on a remote virtuozzo(container based vm thing) machine then waits for it to complete. Its a bit hacked about but you should be able to get the idea.

Paging unit suggestions
We currently have an Asterisk system that is hooked up to our old paging speakers via sound card, plugged into two amps.
Each amp drives up to 8 analog speakers in each warehouse (we have 2). Both warehouses are around 30k square feet. Both have a large number of printing presses.
The computer system is that is running Asterisk is around 10 years old and starting to fail. I'm looking to

Specifying sub-filters
Hello everyone.
I have been looking at the filtering on Mapstraction and realized that it does not allow for sub-filters.
I have modified the applyFilter function to accommodate sub filters.
for example if I wanted to filter all houses that are blue and green and also all warehouses irrespective of color
now I can use
map.addFilter(''Type'', ''eq'', { pFilter:

Help setting optimization problem to include more constraints
Dear R-helpers,
I am struggling with an optimization problem at the moment and decided to
write the list looking for some help. I will use a very small example to
explain what I would like to. Thanks in advance for your help.
We would like to distribute resources from 4 warehouses to 3 destinations.
The costs associated are as follows:

Disappointing Performance Using 9i RAC with OCFS on Linux
Wim,
Thanks for your prompt response on this. The tpmC figures look very
impressive, and tpmC is read intensive.
I had already read note 236679.1 "Comparing Performance Between RAW IO
vs OCFS vs EXT2/3" which I guess is the article to which you are
referring; it made me suspect that the poor performance was due to the
lack of an OS IO cache but I wasn't sure.

OT: Have unused DID's; where to warehouse?
We have a set (about 20) of DID's that we're not using. No one calls
them, and we don't need them for outgoing.
I'd like to keep them for future use. We now pay $5/mo/DID to host them.
Is there a way to "warehouse" them? Just put them in a bank someplace?
Thanks,
sean

Help with Data Warehouse app -- How to display data?
I have a "data warehouse" application I''ve been writing and I would like
to solicit some assistance with how to design it. Basically, I harvest
data from a lot of sources and dump them into my database.
For background on what I''m doing, this "data warehouse" takes
HR/Personnel/Company/Organizational data and associates that with User
Account and Group data

Cleaning up messy Excel data
Unfortunately, some data I need to work with was delivered in a rather messy Excel file. I want to import into R and clean up some things so that I can do my analysis. Pulling in a CSV from Excel is the easy part.
My current challenge is dealing with some text mixed in the values.
i.e. 118 5.7 <2.0 3.7
Since this column in Excel has a "<2.0" value, then R reads the

3510 JBOD ZFS vs 3510 HW RAID
Hi there
Is it fair to compare the 2 solutions using Solaris 10 U2 and a commercial database (SAP SD scenario).
The cache on the HW raid helps, and the CPU load is less... but the solution costs more and you _might_ not need the performance of the HW RAID.
Has anybody with access to these units done a benchmark comparing the performance (and with the pricelist in hand) came to a conclusion.

dynamic tablenames
Hi List!
May I tap into your combined common sense ?
I have a legacy logging app that needs to be modernized. At the moment,
Data is going to be stored in 5 tables, one table is going to contain
more than 200 million and 2 others about 60 million rows. Mysql will be
used, unless someone sees a major advantage in using something else (at
the moment data is stored in a raw positioned file format,

ZFS Usage in Warehousing (lengthy intro)
Dear all,
we''re currently looking forward to restructure our hardware environment for
our datawarehousing product/suite/solution/whatever.
We''re currently running the database side on various SF V440''s attached via
dual FC to our SAN backend (EMC DMX3) with UFS. The storage system is
(obviously in a SAN) shared between many systems. Performance is mediocre
