win95-98 problems
I've installed samba in my linux machine (Mandrake 7.2).
With WinNT and Win2000 there is no problems, but in Win95 and Win98 It's impossible to read files, and open exixting folders, the error is: "the file (folder) don't exist".
If I try to create one, It'isn't shown, there is an error, but if I go in machine with win2000 the folder(file) is there.
How can I resolve

Rails keeps adding the letter s to the MySQL tablename.
I followed this tutorial for Ruby on Rails...
http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/onlamp/2005/01/20/rails.html?page=1
Everything went fine. I created the DB in MySQL and tested the
recipe/new and recipe/list functions, and all went smooth.
Now I''m trying to use Ruby on Rails to track software licenses here at
work and I keep running into this strange problem. I am setting up the

Which DSP are you running to feed your stream? (on winamp I am assuming)
If you are using the new shoutcast 1.8.2 DSP, it has had a lot of problems with super high CPU load and memory leaks. Try Oddcast instead (unless you can run ices or darkice) using VBR Mp3 streaming.
Nothing but happy times here on a win2k dual p2 333 with winamp (2.74) and Oddcast DSP Beta 25 connected to KasterBlaster

I want to use %U to map My Documents to each individual's directory on the

Windows harddisk images.
Hello all,
I've been following this project with interest, and have had great fun
implementing Isolinux within the FreeDOS cdrom distribution.
Since I'm not that an expert at Linux, I would like to know how I can
*succesfully* generate a bootable image from a partition.
Situation is like this: (640MB RAM on system)
60GB IDE harddisk,
primary partition 1 win98 500MB

local master browser
Hi list,
I have a network with a Linux server, running samba 2.2.x,
and 10 Workstation. 3 of the workstation are Win2000 and
the rest is Win98 and WinME.
In the logfiles I see that every 10 Minutes the Win2000
Workstations are forcing a election to become the local master
browser for the network. The server wins the election each time
but there is still a small amount of time (maybe 4 minutes)

Hi all,
I try to explain my strange Samba problem: I've done a linuxbox with
Mandrake 8.2 distro; installed Samba 2.2 packages and two printers attached
via parallel port: one works with the motherboard built-in parallel port,
the other is connected via a pci parallel port card. Both works fine on
win2000 clients (and on the linuxbox, too :); on windows 98 clients, both
printers are

Isolinux CD to Hard drive
Hi,
I've been using Isolinux Boot CD for a while now and it's working great. This weekend, I decided to install it on my hard drive so I can boot Isolinux of the Hard drive. I used the famous command : "syslinux -s c:" to initialize the drive then I copied all the .img file to that drive. Then I renamed the "isolinux.cfg" to "syslinux.cfg" to get to my

Hi Peter,
i had a long, frunstrating web surfing yesterday night, searching for
something
that could apply to your case. I didn't find much at all, sorry. The only
thing
perhaps interesting to you could be this:
http://us2.samba.org/samba/ftp/docs/htmldocs/printer_driver2.html
This doc contains a section about migrating from 2.0.x to 2.2.x
