make-kpkg (Debian based tool) does not build xen patched kernel‏
Hello list, I cannot get make-kpkg to build a Xenlinux type kernel into a Debian kernel binary on my Debian Squeeze x86_64 system. I am using GNU/Linux kernel sources tree (2.6.34.4) with Xen patches for this custom kernel. I am trying to use the make-kpkg command to build a working linux-image-2.6.34.4-xen-amd64 package for my system. The sources are vanilla (available from kernel.org) with

How to: Improve Network Throughput of a XEN kernel?
Hi there, I am starting a new thread to try and solve a problem I am having will slow network throughput to the XEN host (not to a domU). I have confirmed my problem occurs with PVOPS ''xen/master'' kernel as well using http://pasik.reaktio.net/xen/pv_ops-dom0-debug/config-2.6.31.6-pvops-dom0-xen-master-x86_64 as the .config. It also occurs with a forward ported xenified kernel

Accessing console for Xen 4.0 with 2.6.31 pvops kernel on Dell Poweredge R610
I am currently using a Dell PowerEdge server R610 with Xen 4.0 installed and the 2.6.31.13 pvops kernel. I am accessing the server console using the iDRAC KVM feature of the dell management console. Does anyone know how to configure the console option in the grub menu so that all the boot messages can be seen on the mgmt console? Currently I can view only the Xen bootup messages if I dont specify

What about Mate Desktop on Centos 8?
According to Twitter: https://mobile.twitter.com/CentOSProject/status/1173652996305170432 "The next version of #CentOS is being released September 24 and will be announced in all the usual places." I'm wondering about the status of the Mate Desktop. Looking under M here: https://mirror.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/fedora/epel/8/Everything/x86_64/Packages/m/ I don't see anything

SELinux and KVM
I am trying to set up a test kvm virtual machine on a core2 quad system. I have managed to thread my way through bridging eth0 and I have a CentOS-5.4 dvd iso prepared. Using virt-manager, when I try and add a new guest then I get the error reproduced below. Now, I know that I can 'fix' this by building a local mod via audit2allow and installing via semodule. However, I cannot seem to

[LLVMdev] Mangling of UTF-8 characters in symbol names
Why is it that high (>127) bytes in symbol names get mangled by LLVM into _XX_, where XX is the hex representation of the character? Is this required by ELF or some similar standard? This behavior is inconsistent with GCC. Sean -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Xen + Debian Squeeze + Recent ATI Graphics Card
Hi List, I'm looking for some info regarding the above - I've got a machine with a fairly recent ATI Radeon graphics card (RV730XT) installed that ultimately I'd like to run Xen with a Debian Squeeze Dom0. From the reading I've done so far, the situation with graphics cards and PVOPS is not entirely clear to me, hence this request. (N.B. I appreciate that Xen is more geared

my local mirror stopped working
Hey folks, I've had a local mirror set up for some time now and it has always worked, but suddently stopped. I don't think the fact that it stopped work has anything to do with when I blew away that machine and changed it from Centos 5.3 to a Fedora Core 11 box. But I'm not sure how that could make any difference since it is just serving that stuff over the web. It still works
