I currently have two VMs up with networking and I can successfully ssh to and from each VM and I have confirmed that I can successfully download things from the internet. Sluggish X session with Cygwin/X and gnome desktop
Hello, I just installed CentOS 4.4 and when I connect to it from my XP machine using Cygwin/X and the gnome desktop I've noticed that after a couple of minutes it slows to a crawl (menus and dialog boxes don't display immediately when I click on them). Accessing the X session from the console does not exhibit this behavior. Just recently, instead of going with the default gnome

I'm trying to use VNC to connect my home Centos box (up to date centos 5) to my Centos 4 (also up to date) at work. I have no problem connecting. The problem occurs after logging in, for every applet in the bottom Gnome panel I get an error box from which I can choose to remove the applet from the panel, or just go on. I choose to not delete but to just go on. After I get a half dozen or so of

Why is XenCenter telling me to register my XCP box?
I think the title says it all :) I got far enough along in the Xen documentation that the documentation recommended me to start using XenCenter to manage the server. Why am I being asked by XenCenter to register my XCP 1.0 server? I know it''s similar, but it''s not a Citrix XenServer... ;) >From what I can gather, XCP is open source freeware...correct me if I''m

Remote Desktop Recommendations
Folks I'm looking for a way to access a GUI desktop on a Centos 7 server from a Windows client. I have tried: - X2go from EPEL (fails immediately, apparently they are working on a solution, but...) - Freenx (doesn't exist for EL7) Both the above work fine with Centos 6. Are there any known working solutions? Thanks... Mystified but not urgent in San Francisco David

VGA as vfio-pci and vnc server's blank/black display
hi, I'm having a Radeon as vfio-pci, which seems to work perfectly fine, but... Qemu's model type='vga' gets "exlaimed" in win2k8's Device Manager with: " Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) " Now, that does not bother me that much as all I need on regular basis is RDP but VNC connection gets me nowhere. I get
