[PATCH 1/1] xen/netback: correctly calculate required slots of skb.
When counting required slots for skb, netback directly uses DIV_ROUND_UP to get slots required by header data. This is wrong when offset in the page of header data is not zero, and is also inconsistent with following calculation for required slot in netbk_gop_skb. In netbk_gop_skb, required slots are calculated based on offset and len in page of header data. It is possible that required slots

[Pv-ops][PATCH 3/4 v4] Netback: Multiple tasklets support
Netback: Multiple tasklets support. Now netback uses one pair of tasklets for Tx/Rx data transaction. Netback tasklet could only run at one CPU at a time, and it is used to serve all the netfronts. Therefore it has become a performance bottle neck. This patch is to use multiple tasklet pairs to replace the current single pair in dom0. Assuming that Dom0 has CPUNR VCPUs, we define CPUNR kinds of

[PATCH]Fix the bug of guest os installation failure and win2k boot failure
Hi, Keir, This patch is to fix the problem of Linux guest installation failure and Windows 2000 boot failure.       In the early code, we use vmx_vmexit_handler() -> vmx_io_instruction() function to emulate I/O instructions. But now, we use vmx_vmexit_handler() -> handle_mmio -> hvm_emulate_one() -> x86_emulate() to emulate I/O instructions. Also nowadays, the realmode

[PATCH]Fix the issue that guest cannot boot if set empty cdrom in config file
Hi, Keir, This attached patch fixes the issue that guest can not boot if set empty cdrom in configuration file. (For example, disk = [ ''file:/images/a.img'', '',hdc:cdrom,r'' ]) This is because function "uname = config.get(''uname'', '''')" returns '''' but not None if uname is not in config

[PATCH] nvmx: fix resource relinquish for nested VMX
The previous order of relinquish resource is: relinquish_domain_resources() -> vcpu_destroy() -> nvmx_vcpu_destroy(). However some L1 resources like nv_vvmcx and io_bitmaps are free in nvmx_vcpu_destroy(), therefore the relinquish_domain_resources() will not reduce the refcnt of the domain to 0, therefore the latter vcpu release functions will not be called. To fix this issue, we need to

qemu-xen-traditional: NOCACHE or CACHE_WB to open disk images for IDE
Hi list, Recently I was debugging L2 guest slow booting issue in nested virtualization environment (both L0 and L1 hypervisors are all Xen). To boot a L2 Linux guest (RHEL6u2), it will need to wait more than 3 minutes after grub loaded, I did some profile, and see guest is doing disk operations by int13 BIOS procedure. Even not consider the nested case, I saw there is a bug reporting normal VM

VMX status report. Xen: #17270 & Xen0: #488 -- no new issue
Hi all, This is today''s nightly testing report; no new issue today. Most of case failures are due to bug #1183 and #1194 listed below. For bug #1194, the issue `Linux booting hangs with "hda: dma..." errors` got fixed on this c/s; but neither Windows nor Linux X can boot up with setting sdl=1 and opengl=1 if guest''s resolution is set as 800 * 600 or higher. [PATCH v2] xen-netback: add a pseudo pps rate limit
VM traffic is already limited by a throughput limit, but there is no control over the maximum packet per second (PPS). In DDOS attack the major issue is rather PPS than throughput. With provider offering more bandwidth to VMs, it becames easy to coordinate a massive attack using VMs. Example: 100Mbits ~ 200kpps using 64B packets. This patch provides a new option to limit VMs maximum packets per

[PATCH v3 0/4] nested vmx: enable VMCS shadowing feature
Changes from v2 to v3: - Use pfn_to_paddr() to get the address from frame number instead of doing shift directly. - Remove some unnecessary initialization code and add "static" to vmentry_fields and gpdptr_fields. - Enable the VMREAD/VMWRITE bitmap only if nested hvm is enabled. - Use clear_page() to set all 0 to the page instead of memset(). - Use domheap to allocate the

[PATCH RFC] xen-netback: remove guest RX path dependence on MAX_SKB_FRAGS
This dependence is undesirable and logically incorrect. It''s undesirable because Xen network protocol should not depend on a OS-specific constant. It''s incorrect because the ring slots required doesn''t correspond to the number of frags a SKB has (consider compound page frags). This patch removes this dependence by correctly counting the ring slots required.

[PATCH] xen: fix initialization of wallclock time for PVHVM on migration
The initial values of the wallclock time in the shared info page are set for PVHVM guests when the hypercall page is initialized, since the hypercall page is not reinitialized on resume, the hypervisor wallclock time is not properly set on resume. Fix it by forcing an update of the wallclock values when the shared info page is mapped. Signed-off-by: Roger Pau Monné <roger.pau@citrix.com>

[PATCH 7/8] netback: split event channels support
Netback and netfront only use one event channel to do tx / rx notification. This may cause unnecessary wake-up of process routines. This patch adds a new feature called feautre-split-event-channel to netback, enabling it to handle Tx and Rx event separately. Netback will use tx_irq to notify guest for tx completion, rx_irq for rx notification. If frontend doesn''t support this feature,

confused about CORREP cor.LRtest
After some struggling with the data format, non-standard in BioConductor, I have gotten cor.balance in package CORREP to work. My desire was to obtain maximum-likelihood p-values from the same data object using cor.LRtest, but it appears that this function wants something different, which I can't figure out from the documentation. Briefly, my dataset consists of 36 samples from 12

softirq bound to vcpus
In "Understanding the Linux Kernel" 3rd edition, section 4.7 "Softirqs and Tasklets" it states: "Activation and execution [of defferable functions] are bound together: a deferrable function that has been activated by a given CPU must be executed on the same CPU. There is no self-evident reason suggesting that this rule is beneficial for system performance. Binding the
