[PATCH] xen: remove CONFIG_XEN_DOM0 compile option
XEN_DOM0 is a silent option that has been automatically selected when CONFIG_XEN is selected since 6b0661a5e6fbf. If this option was changed to a menu configurable option then it would only give users the ability to compile out about 100 kbytes of code. As that option makes little sense to choose, and the option isn''t menu selectable anyway, then we can clean up some code by simply

[PATCH] Support Function Level Reset (FLR) in the xen-pciback module (v1) and some fixes.
The attached patches allow the pciback module to perform a reset whenever a PCI device is: - attached to the pciback module, as so: echo "0000:01.07.0" > /sys/bus/pci/devices/pciback/bind - detached from the pciback module, as so: echo "0000:01.07.0" > /sys/bus/pci/devices/pciback/unbind - and when the guest is done with (internally when the guest is not using

[RFC PATCH 00/11] Refactor MSI to support Non-PCI device
Hi all, The series is a draft of generic MSI driver that supports PCI and Non-PCI device which have MSI capability. If you're not interested it, sorry for the noise. The series is based on Linux-3.16-rc1. MSI was introduced in PCI Spec 2.2. Currently, kernel MSI driver codes are bonding with PCI device. Because MSI has a lot advantages in design. More and more non-PCI devices want to use

[PATCH] Modpost section mismatch fix
[Sorry if duplicate, one earlier was corrupt] Hi, I got section mismatches reported by modpost in latest build. It got reported for xen_register_pirq and xen_unplug_emulated_devices functions. xen_register_pirq makes reference to acpi_sci_override_gsi in init.data section; marking xen_register_pirq with __init is not feasible since calls are made to it from

[PATCH 00 of 38] xen: add more Xen dom0 support
Hi Ingo, Here''s the chunk of patches to add Xen Dom0 support (it''s probably worth creating a new xen/dom0 topic branch for it). A dom0 Xen domain is basically the same as a normal domU domain, but it has extra privileges to directly access hardware. There are two issues to deal with: - translating to and from the domain''s pseudo-physical addresses and real machine

[PATCH 4/4] x86: split MSI IRQ chip
With the .end() accessor having become optional and noting that several of the accessors'' behavior really depends on the result of msi_maskable_irq(), the splits the MSI IRQ chip type into two - one for the maskable ones, and the other for the (MSI only) non-maskable ones. At once the implementation of those methods gets moved from io_apic.c to msi.c. Signed-off-by: Jan Beulich

LSI SAS2008 Option Rom Failure
Hi- I am trying to pass an LSI SAS2008-based HBA (IBM M1015) through to an HVM Solaris VM, using Xen 4.2 unstable and the qemu-traditional device model. On boot I see the following error: MPT BIOS Fault 09h encountered at adapter PCI(00h,05h,00h) A list search yielded (http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.xen.devel/128172), however there was no solution for an HVM VM. I''ve

RE: [GIT/PATCH 0/5] Re: unfair servicing of DomU vbd requests
Hi James. I go through the patch, since all its changes happens inside __xen_evtchn_do_upcall(), so I apply the patch into my 2.6.31.kernel by manual. (I was failed to merge a usable, 2.6.38dom0, since quite a lot branch needed, such as blkback, netback) But still, the blue screen shows up. Log attached. Is the timeout better than before? Beside, I think I need find some to examine my
