[PATCH] xen/gntdev,gntalloc: Remove unneeded VM flags
The only time when granted pages need to be treated specially is when using Xen''s PTE modification for grant mappings owned by another domain. Otherwise, the area does not require VM_DONTCOPY and VM_PFNMAP, since it can be accessed just like any other page of RAM. What happend to /sys/xen and independent_wallclock (Xen 4.0/Linux 2.6.32)
Hi all, finally I have managed to upgrade to Xen 4.0 (actually it reports Xen 4.1-unstable) and Debian''s Linux kernel 2.6.32-4-xen-amd64. Now I am wondering what happend to independent_wallclock. There is no more /sys/xen and sysctl complains error: "xen.independent_wallclock" is an unknown key Does anybody know more about this? Thanks + best regards, Stephan

[PATCH] xen/gntdev: do not set VM_PFNMAP
Since when we are using the m2p_override it is not true anymore that the mmap''ed area doesn''t have corresponsing struct pages. Removing the VM_PFNMAP flag makes get_user_pages work on the mmap''ed user vma. An example test case would be using a Xen userspace block backend (QDISK) on a file on NFS using O_DIRECT. The patch should be backported back to 2.6.38.

TTM/Nouveau cleanups
Hi guys, I've already send this out in September last year, but only got a response from Daniel. Could you guys please test this and tell me what you think about it? Basically I'm trying to remove all driver specific features from TTM which don't need to be inside the framework. Thanks, Christian.

Move io_reserve_lru handling into the driver
Just a gentle ping on this. Already got the Acked-by from Daniel, but I need some of the nouveau guys to test this since I can only compile test it. Regards, Christian.

[PATCH v2 0/7] mm/hmm: more HMM clean up
Here are seven more patches for things I found to clean up. This was based on top of Christoph's seven patches: "hmm_range_fault related fixes and legacy API removal v3". I assume this will go into Jason's tree since there will likely be more HMM changes in this cycle. Changes from v1 to v2: Added AMD GPU to hmm_update removal. Added 2 patches from Christoph. Added 2 patches as

Moving LRU handling into Nouveau v3
Hi guys, so I got some hardware and tested this and after hammering out tons of typos it now seems to work fine. Could you give it more testing? Thanks in advance, Christian

[PATCH 1/2] drm/nouveau: move io_reserve_lru handling into the driver
While working on TTM cleanups I've found that the io_reserve_lru used by Nouveau is actually not working at all. In general we should remove driver specific handling from the memory management, so this patch moves the io_reserve_lru handling into Nouveau instead. The patch should be functional correct, but is only compile tested! Signed-off-by: Christian König <christian.koenig at

vm_normal_page() in linux-2.6-xen-sparse/mm/memory.c
vm_normal_page() @ linux-2.6-xen-sparse/mm/memory.c ... if (!vma->vm_flags & VM_RESERVED) print_bad_pte(vma, pte, addr); note:VM_RESERVED=0x00080000 This if clause is always false. [PATCH] xen: gntdev: move use of GNTMAP_contains_pte next to the map_op
This flag controls the meaning of gnttab_map_grant_ref.host_addr and specifies that the field contains a refernce to the pte entry to be used to perform the mapping. Therefore move the use of this flag to the point at which we actually use a reference to the pte instead of something else, splitting up the usage of the flag in this way is confusing and potentially error prone. The other flags are

[PATCH] direct_remap_pfn_range vm_flags fix
direct_remap_pfn_range() does not properly mark vma with VM_PFNMAP. This triggers improper reference counting on what rmap thought was a normal page, and a subsequent BUG() such as: Eeek! page_mapcount(page) went negative! [PATCH 1/8] drm/ttm: turn ttm_bo_device.vma_manager into a pointer
Rename the embedded struct vma_offset_manager, new name is _vma_manager. ttm_bo_device.vma_manager changed to a pointer. The ttm_bo_device_init() function gets an additional vma_manager argument which allows to initialize ttm with a different vma manager. When passing NULL the embedded _vma_manager is used. All callers are updated to pass NULL, so the behavior doesn't change. Signed-off-by:
