With my functional tests (on PgSQL) I get strange errors like this 1) Error: test_create(AufgabeControllerTest): ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid: ERROR: duplicate key violates unique constraint "aufgaben_pkey" Tracking this down, I found that sequences are only reset for some of the tables I''m using. The reason? Inconsistent singularization. I won''t go so far as

Rails File Upload w/ Ajax Update?
I''m trying to upload a file, display the upload progress and then update a table with the newly uploaded file. Is there a way to specify a :success handler for form_tag_with_upload_progress such that I have access to the request.response data (in the way I can with link_to_remote)? The :finish JavaScript is being executed but because there is no request object, the table

RJS and calendar_helper troubles .... tab characters covering web page
We have implemented calendar_helper.rb to generate an ajaxified calendar using rjs templates. Everything worked fine until we added a drop down to select the current month. Now when select a month and the calendar refreshes to that selected month we get a ton of ''\t'' displayed all over the page inside what looks like to be a javascript debug print statement ( try {} catch{} block

Hotlinking an entire row in an HTML table
Hi, This seems simple but I cant get it to work... I have a table with 4 or 5 columns and 20-30 rows. I''d like to have the ability to click anywhere in a particular row to fire an action, such as bringing up a "Details" page for the clicked row. This would eliminate the need to generate a "Details" link at the end of every row, which is what I have now and looks

[PATCH 1/3] inspection: Add func for merging fs inspections
Add a new guestfs_int_merge_fs_inspections() function that merges the OS inspection information of two inspect_fs instances into one. This function is useful if the inspection information for an OS are gathered by inspecting multiple filesystems. [PATCH v2 3/4] common/mlstdutils: Introduce Option submodule.
Inspired by ocaml-extlib, introduce a module for handling option types. We already had the ‘may’ function (which becomes ‘Option.may’). This adds also ‘Option.map’ (unused), and ‘Option.default’ functions. Note this does *not* introduce the unsafe ‘Option.get’ function from extlib. --- builder/builder.ml | 6 ++--- builder/index.ml | 27 +++++++++------------

[PATCH v12 04/11] New API: Deprecate hivex_value_utf8 and replace with hivex_value_string.
hivex has a function hivex_value_string. We were not calling it under the mistaken belief that because hivex implements this using iconv, the function wouldn't work inside the daemon. Instead we reimplemented the functionality in the library. This commit deprecates hivex_value_utf8 and removes the library side code. It replaces it with a plain wrapper around hivex_value_string. Thanks:

Eleven??
I was poking around in the Gentoo Linux repository yesterday, trying to satisfy my curiosity about how many programming languages there are in "common use" today. I found one called "Eleven" which is quite strangely similar in intent to Rails. The home page is http://eleven.sourceforge.net/. Eleven is much simpler than Rails, and there are some interesting ideas in it. To

[PATCH 2/2] inspect: switch to version struct for os major/minor version
Use the version struct in inspect_fs to hold the version of a filesystem, adapting the inspection code to that. Also, move the parts of the version parsing to helper functions of the version struct, so common bits like parsing "X.Y" or "X" version strings is done only once. --- v2 changes: - adapt to v2 changes in patch #1 src/guestfs-internal.h | 8 +-

How do you use the ''vendor'' directory with 3rd party libraries?
Hi, I''m wondering how to use the ''vendor'' directory in a Rails app. I know that you can put plugins and engines into the ''vendor/plugins'' directory and that svn:externals can be used for that, but I was wondering how & where I put a 3rd party library? My specific case is the pdf-writer code, which I''d rather have inside my app than as a
