[PATCH] xen: introduce xen_change_state_handler
From: Anthony PERARD <anthony.perard@citrix.com> Remove the call to xenstore_record_dm_state from xen_main_loop_prepare that is HVM specific. Add a new vm_change_state_handler shared between xen_pv and xen_hvm machines to record the VM state to xenstore. a question about scoping functions
Hi, I've written some helper functions which are used by another function (called func()). When func() is sourced I dont want the helper function to be seen in the global namespace (as shown by ls()). Currently what I have done is: func <- function() { helper1 <- function() { ... } helper2 <- function() { ... } # some code } Is there anyway to take the functions

[PATCH] Simple emulation of host keyboard and mouse for gfx_passthru.
Hi, to use the host keyboard and touchpad of my laptop while running a HVM guest with passthroughed primary gfx-card I wrote a simple emulation. To activate it change gfx_passthru=1 -> gfx_passthru=1001 in the domU config file. This was done this way to have a small footprint. Also the embedding in helper2.c is a little bit awkward. Another problem using this way is that the VT in dom0 is not

[PATCH] xenconsoled: use grant references instead of map_foreign_range
Grant references for the xenstore and xenconsole shared pages exist, but currently only xenstore uses these references. Change the xenconsole daemon to prefer using the grant reference over map_foreign_range when mapping the shared console ring. This allows xenconsoled to be run in a domain other than dom0 if set up correctly - for libxl, the xenstore path /tool/xenconsoled/domid specifies the

[PATCH] ioemu: fix SDL mouse events processing
ioemu: fix SDL mouse events processing - GetRelativeMouseState always returns the last position, so when the polling loop gets several mouse events in one go, we would send useless ''no move'' events. - So as to make sure we don''t miss any mouse click / double click, we should not use GetRelativeMouseState() to get the button state, but keep records of the button

[PATCH 00/15] RFC xen device model support
Hi all, this is the long awaited patch series to add xen device model support in qemu; the main author is Anthony Perard. Developing this series we tried to come up with the cleanest possible solution from the qemu point of view, limiting the amount of changes to common code as much as possible. The end result still requires a couple of hooks in piix_pci but overall the impact should be very

[PATCH] Switch to poll in xenconsoled's io loop.
The original implementation utilies select(). In Linux select() typically supports up to 1024 file descriptors. This can be a problem when user tries to boot up many guests. Switching to poll() has minimum impact on existing code and has better scalibility. Up to 8192 file descriptors are supported in the current implementation. [PATCH] Fix QEMU HVM hotplug race in QEMU traditional (Xen 4.1, Xen 4.2, and Xen 4.3) (v1).
Hey Ian and Stefano, Please see this thread: http://lists.xen.org/archives/html/xen-devel/2013-05/msg01053.html for the debug patches and some of the discussion. These three patches fix an race that has been in QEMU traditional for a long time. The guts of the bug is that if you have a guest with these options: vcpus=1 maxvcpus=32 and do ''xl vcpu-set <guest> 32'' the

PATCH 0/10: Merge PV framebuffer & console into QEMU
The following series of 10 patches is a merge of the xenfb and xenconsoled functionality into the qemu-dm code. The general approach taken is to have qemu-dm provide two machine types - one for xen paravirt, the other for fullyvirt. For compatability the later is the default. The goals overall are to kill LibVNCServer, remove alot of code duplication and/or parallel impls of the same concepts, and

Prototype to use QEMU for PV guest framebuffer
As many of us are all too painfully aware we have completely different VNC server implementations for paravirt vs fullyvirt Xen guests. The former based on libvncserver, the latter integrated into QEMU. There are many new and interesting ideas being tried out in the VNC server space in particular wrt to virtualization and having to implement them all twice is not very desirable. Also

[PATCH] qemu-traditional - ACPI vCPU hotplug fixes for Xen 4.3 (v2).
Please see the three patches that fix the ACPI AML and QEMU race. They have been Ack-ed by both George (for inclusion in Xen 4.3) and by Stefano. They should be candidates for back-port in older hypervisors. Konrad Rzeszutek Wilk (3): piix4acpi, xen, vcpu hotplug: Split the notification from the changes. piix4acpi, xen: Clarify that the qemu_set_irq calls just do an IRQ pulse.
