xen-unstable, winxp32 very poor performance on AMD FX-8150, I bisected and changeset is 24770:7f79475d3de7
I ran a bisect to find out when Windows XP 32 bit becomes unusably slow. And I found the changeset that caused it. ========== The problem: ========== Windows 8 64 bit and 32 bit run fast and fine in the newest xen versions. Windows XP 32 bit runs unusably slow in anything new that I built from xen-unstable, but runs fast in 4.1.2 and 4.1.3 stable. While it is running slow, "xm top" or

ZINB multi-level model using MCMCglmm
Hi, I am Olga Viedma. I am running a Zero-inflated negative binomial (ZINB) multi-level model using MCMCglmm package. I have a doubt. Can I use the "Liab" outputs as fitted data, instead of the predicted values from "predict"? The liab outputs fit very well with the observed data, whereas the predicted values are so bad. Thanks in advance, Olga Viedma D . Olga

brtfs on Solaris? (Re: [osol-discuss] [indiana-discuss] So when are we gonna fork this sucker?)
brtfs could be supported on Opensolaris, too. IMO it could even complement ZFS and spawn some concurrent development between both. ZFS is too high end and works very poorly with less than 2GB while brtfs reportedly works well with 128MB on ARM. RV: problems for making grids from lmer models
Dear colleagues: I am working with binary mixed models using lme4 package and everything works fine until I try to spatialize the fitted models using grids predictors. I have used the "predict" function from RASTER package and the RSAGA functionalities, but always I have the same error: "Error in object$xlevels : $ operator not defined for this S4 class". I think the

Xen 4.1.1 HVM guest cdrom trouble, lost interrupts, ata failed commands (frozen)
Hello, I was testing Fedora 16 (rc2) Xen host, with included Xen 4.1.1 rpms and Linux 3.1.0 dom0 kernel. Fedora 16 PV domUs seem to work nicely. I noticed a problem with Fedora 16 Xen HVM guests though. The F16 guest kernel (Linux 3.1.0) fails with the qemu-dm emulated DVD-ROM drive.. Full HVM guest kernel dmesg attached to this email. ext3 is still locking up
A brand new system setup with RH 7.3 is still Oopsing after every X hours. The problem started after about 1 week without errors. Sometimes everything is locked, sometimes still messages are written to /var/log/messages. Sometimes other processes keep running (can still ping the machine) I upgraded the kernel to 2.4.18-19.7.x, changed the memory, but still got problems. When I read all sort of

suggestion for filesystem or general performance optimization
Hi, recently I noticed, that we have some performance issues regarding our central samba fileserver. Red Hat EL 5.8, samba3x-3.5.10-0.109. Doing a rsync, scp or accessing a share from a client and copy large files (e.g. 3 GB ISO), I do get a read / write average about 60 to 90 MB/sec. So LAN and general hardware can work at max. lan speed. But copying or syncing small files, e.g. user profiles

Linux PV Drivers - VBD device not loading - Cannot get Major 3/22 for ide
I am trying to get PV drivers running on both Centos 5.1 and Centos 5.3 HVMs, my DomU is Centos 5.2 with Xen 3.31. For 5.1 I install the kmod-xenpv RPM but for 5.3 the drivers seem to be built-in. For the network drivers to work I had to unload the Realtek NIC driver and renamed its .ko files to stop it loading. Adding the Xen-Vnif alias to modprobe.conf then got the PV NICs working nicely (Much

PageUp/Down in gnome-terminal
Dear all, I am using gnome-terminal to run R, and I noticed that standard PageUp/Down do not work but they do work for other programs within the same terminal window (e.g. irssi). Scroll bar does not work either. I run R using GNU-screen, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Call C code from R
Hello, All! I have function which is written in C, the function uses other functions also builded bu me. Now I need to use the function to build R function. My questions are: 1. How can I include libraries (for example, iomanip, sstream, tcl.h)? 2. Should I put other function to the separate file and then include the file? Thanks All :) Olga [[alternative HTML version deleted]]
