cannot compile R on Cray XE6 HLRS HERMIT
Dear All,
I am trying to compile R-3.0 on Cray xe6 (HLRS) HERMIT, no success so far.
Here is my experience:
I use this to configure and make R:
CC="cc" \
CXX="CC" \
F77="ftn" \
FC="ftn" \
CPPFLAGS="-I$PREFIX/include" \
LDFLAGS="-L$PREFIX/lib${LIBDIRSUFFIX}" \
./configure --prefix=$PREFIX \
--exec-prefix=$PREFIX \
--bindir=$PREFIX/bin \

large integer values
Dear devels,
I need to create a (short) vector in C, which contains potentially very
large numbers, exponentially to the powers of 2.
This is my test example:
lgth = 35;
int power[lgth];
power[lgth - 1] = 1;
for (j = 1; j < lgth; j++) {
power[lgth - j - 1] = 2*power[lgth - j];
}
Everything works ok until it reaches the limit of 2^32:
power: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024,

Hi Hui,
thanks for playing with the latest versions. Surprisingly, I can
reproduce even by hotplugging a DIMM instead as well - that's good, so
it's not related to virtio-mem, lol. Seems to be some QEMU setup issue
with older machine types.
Can you switch to a newer qemu machine version,

syslinux 4.02 hangs at "boot:"
Hi all,
I have a machine that won't boot syslinux 4.02 but will boot syslinux
3.53. We've installed syslinux 4.02 on a number of machines but only
this one has a problem.
The problem is that the machine hangs entirely after printing "boot:" on
the tty. The stanza being booted in /boot/extlinux.conf is:
label xe
# XenServer
kernel mboot.c32

Bug#702369: latest install report
I've had another attempt at installing Wheezy 64 bit from a template as
PV. I attach my full script below.
I've made much more progress this time, but there are still outstanding
issues:
- neither "xe console" or VNC seems to allow ALT-F[2-6] keystrokes, so I
can't get other virtual terminals and therefore can't obtain any useful
log/status messages. This issue alone

The idea here is to create a PV FreeBSD VM under Xen Cloud Platform
(XCP) without starting with an HVM first. The documentation I''''ve
been able to find on-line is at least a year old and is mostly written
for Xen (under
