Parsing RDF coming from a URL
Hello,
i''m writing an application that needs geocoding information for locations

XML Storage?
Hey Folks,
Now that all the fun and games of learning Rails has almost sunk
in it''s time to build something useful. I am tasked with building a
system to control and search our large (and I mean large 1.5 million + and
growing) photograph collection. I have been building databases for years
and after thinking about the situation we decided that trying to store the

Writing a properly-formed custom type (configxml)
Please hold my hand.
After studying the wiki, several unofficial pages, various mailing list entries, and the operation of the "iptables" type as found on the net, I have created a custom type, lovingly named ``configxml''''.
It updates attributes on the first element matching a supplied XPath in a given XML file. The first use case is configuring Atlassian JIRA to use

Quick XPath question (REXML)
All,
If I have the following (assume that xml contains a valid REXML Document
and that the root of the xml is way above any <tr> elements in the
document):
just_rows = xml.elements["//tr[starts_with(@id,
''xdgDataRow_grid_container_'')]"]
shouldn''t just_rows contain _all_ of the <tr> elements whose id
attributes start_with

Parsing Filemaker 6 XML into something I can use
Hi
One of our customers has a Filemaker database which needs to be
accessed for some data. Using the Web Companion, I can query the
database for an XML version of the data. I need to be able to push
this data into an array of hashes, so I can access it in a more
convenient way. Filemaker is able to provide me with 2 XML formats
(DSO-XML and FMP-XML):

I'd suggest at some point to look into separate stream solution for
metadata, perhaps M3F [1].

assert_select issue
I''d like to do an assert_select where only ONE of the matching elements
needs to match the :text.
It seems counterintuitive to me to require them *all* to match, which
precludes me from testing the existence of a particular tag (h1) with
some particular text if other instances of the same tag exist.
I know that I can narrow down the field by using more detailed
selectors, but it sure

Metadata & RDF
I'm very pleased to come across flac, good work folks!
I would like advice and/or have a spec feature request. Please bear in
mind that I am totally new to the format, apologies if what I describe
has been discussed before.
Basically I'd like to embed arbitrary (meta)data in flac files. For
example, it may be about the audio, but then again it may be about the
creator of the audio, or

Search large XML file -- REXML slower than a slug, regex instantaneous
Got a question hopefully someone can answer -
I am working on functionality to match on certain nodes of a largish (65mb)
xml file. I implemented this with REXML and was 2 minutes and counting
before I killed the process. After this, I just opened the console and
loaded the file into a string and did a regex search for my data -- the
result was almost instantaneous.
The question is, if I can get

Text Encoding
Dear R-Help,
I am using the RDF package/ R 2.14 with the RDF package to download data
from a website, and then use R to manipulate it.
Text on the website is UTF-8. The RDF package's rdf_load command is
converting it into a different encoding, which converts non-ASCII
characters to unicode codes.
On the webpage/sparql RDF: "4.5µg of cDNA was used"
In R, the RDF triple gives:

A use of RDF to extend register Remat
Dear Community,
I would like to discuss few points to use RDF to extend register remat
scope. Mr. Krzysztof and I have started discussion this on private mail.
But I think now it would be better to include community.
Interested community member kindly previous discussion (at the end of mail)

After analyzing if RDF can be used for solving Remat, we think that problem

Hi Vivek,
Sorry, I missed this email. I wrote the RDF stuff and I'd be happy to
help you out with it if you are interested.
The idea was to have a utility class that would represent the data flow
between registers. The registers

I've included a section for video specific stuff, but everything that I
originally had in there is being covered by the MM:Contributors section.

Content-Type: application/rdf+xml
Hi,
I am trying to parse the response received from a rdf file using DOM.
However, I am not able to get anything in the responseXML. It always returns null.
Following is the content type I receive from the server.
Content-Type: application/rdf+xml
Can someone let me know how I can receive this as an xmlObj?
Thanks in advance,
Mandy.

Using RDF/OWL with R?
Hello,
Is there a convenient way to import RDF/OWL data into R?
I'm interested in importing BioPAX/SBPAX data into R to make them
available for a wider audience. One exciting application would be to
use pathway data to explain differential microarray measurements by
identifying upstream nodes that are likely involved in causing the
differences. This could also be used to validate
