Setting ACLs
This is possibly the dumbest question I have asked ever, but how do you set ACLs on files within a ZFS filesystem? Trying to use setfacl(1) diverts me to the acl(5) manpage; well, I know that I need to use NFSv4 style ACLs, but where is the utility to do so? This is on Solaris 10 Update 2. Thanks, Ceri -- That must be wonderful! I don''t understand it at all.

Howdy all, This may be the dumbest question in the world, but how can you "add one month" to a Date object? I can''t just add 30 days, because months have varying lengths. Any help would be much appreciated... Thanks! -Neal --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails:

Newbie on IVR

Please, permit me as I know this will be one of the dumbest questions to ask in a group like this. I'll apprecaite any specific guide/instruction. Thanks

imapc fetch optimization
Hi, imapc does a lot of UID FETCH $UID (BODY.PEEK[]), which is nice, because it works even with the dumbest IMAP server, altough it really kills performance, especially on high latency lines. I wonder: if IMAP servers can effectively handle boundless fetches (like a list with all wanted UIDs, or simply 1:* if all are needed), do you see this as a good addition to develop? This could be a

Applying a patch to rails
Hi, I recently upgraded to Ruby 1.8.3 and I need to apply the patch Ticket #2245: as_clean_logger_rb-fixed.patch to make the bad stuff go away. But I am unsure of how to apply the path to an already installed gem (rails). Will it fix my existing RoR apps as well as new ones? Thanks for listening to my Nuby question.

Where to put source code?
I'm trying to move from Matlab to R, and I'm stuck even getting started. This sounds to me like the dumbest question in the world but... how does one put R source code in files? Over the last three days I've gone front to back through the Introduction to R and the R Language Definition, and while I'm excited that the language is so Lispish, none of what I read described how to

[LLVMdev] Any mechanism available for link time inlineing?
Hi, trying to develop this idea of splitting c++ classes into real interface and implementation and to make a std isocpp proposal out of it. Need some help and info to make the proposal cover as many details as possible. The idea is to split the class declaration into a part that will stay in the header and will contain only the public members. (let's ignore protected for the moment). The

Using grep with tail. Unix challenge!
I want to tail my development.log file, but i only want to show the lines that have the word "ERROR" in. How can i do this?? Doing this : tail -f development.log | grep "ERROR" will filter the log file, but it will not constantly update itself. i.e. newly added lines to the log file that contain "ERROR" are not displayed. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks

Nuube Sequence problem
In my database the id for a field is 810. RoR thinks that it is 809. My log file (below) shows that just before the insert it grabs the next sequence value. I dont think it should do that. This causes problems further down the line when trying to access the Person object. Development Log file : "SQL (0.016000) select people_seq.nextval id from dual Person Create (0.015000) INSERT

Nubee Callbacks problem
I never want to alter a model(row). When a model has been changed i want a new copy to be created. What is the best way to implement this? I think using callbacks might be the answer. So model.save will create a new row, and leave the old one unchanged. Any ideas? I can easily implement this in the controller but i''d rather it be done transparently. Also errors should be passed back
