pci passthrough under xen-3.3 without VT-d
Hi all! I''m hoping someone here might be able to help. I''m familiar with several UNIX''es, though farily new to Linux... I''m running RHEL 5.2. I''ve got the RHEL kernel headers installed, etc, and compiled xen-3.3. Once that was built, I rebuilt libvirt, etc, the kernel, and all the modules. The whole mess boots and runs fine... mostly. problem with pci path through - device not present in DomU
Hello, I''m running 6.26-2-xen-amd64 with xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-amd64. Now I try to pass through a controller card to WHS, at the moment without success because the card isn''t present in DomU. At the first moment I guess it''s a windows problem ;) so I''d tried to boot a Knoppix .iso but same problem there, the passed through device isn''t present in DomU.

virtman breaks after installing XEN 3.1 on SELS 10.1
I have an installation of 32bit SLES 10.1 on 2 servers in my lab that I just rebuilt. I applied the files from xen-3.1.0-install-x86_32.tgz and broke all the virtman functions. The errors I got indicate some missing python classes, specifically xen.install. I''m not sure why. This is what I get when I try to run virtman from the command line. If I try to run it from yast i get nothing.

pci-attach - HOWTO
Hi, I tried to attach passrough io device to domU, the command (ended successfully in dom0), but when I entered the domU and typed the "lspci" command I didn''t see the new device, although the dom0 removed it from the "pci-list-assignable-devices". When I tried to detach it from the domU, the detach command returned with timeout error. What did I miss? perhaps I

RFC: multicast add/remove for network frontend
Network frontends currently have no way to express the set of ethernet multicast groups that they are interested in. As a consequence we deliver all multicast traffic to them. A subsequent consequence is that network interfaces used in the IO domain typically end up in promiscuous mode, which is generally undesirable. I''d like to slightly extend the inter-domain protocol to allow

spurious warnings from get_page() via gnttab_copy() during frontend shutdown
In testing our implementation of the hypervisor copy based backend- >frontend networking changes, we see what I believe are spurious warning messages during the shutdown of the frontend domain: (XEN) /export/build/schuster/xvm-gate/xen.hg/xen/include/asm/mm.h: 189:d0 Error pfn 30e290: rd=ffff830000fcf100, od=ffff830000fcf100, caf=00000000, taf=0000000000000000 (XEN) Xen call trace:

creating a vnic to represent the factory MAC address
How do I create a vnic that represents the factory assigned MAC address of my physical nic? The bge device in my system (x2100) appears to support 4 MAC addresses. The driver reserves the first as the ''primary/default'' address and allows manipulation of the other three via the MAC_CAPAB_MULTIADDRESS interface. I''d like to use vnics on this system, as I have Xen guest

IPv4 configuration for Solaris guest domains
I''d like to enhance Solaris network configuration slightly to allow guest domain IPv4 details to be passed from the domain building control tools through to the relevant components in Solaris (svc:/network/physical and uts/common/fs/nfs/nfs_dlinet.c). Attached is a proposal, roughly in the form of a fasttrack. Diffs for a prototype are at:

How to get Vncserver for OpenSolaris domU on top Linux dom0 ?
There is no active internet connection on the LAN where Solaris domU runs. I cannot follow advise from http://www.dme.org/log/2006/07/21/xvnc-with-solaris-on-xen/ and execute:- # pkgadd -d http://www.blastwave.org/pkg_get.pkg # /opt/csw/bin/pkg-get -i vncserver Would it be possible to download install package for vncserver at some other location and copy to Linux box running Solaris PVM ?

Some errors in the blogentry with instructions on how to install Xvnc on Solaris
Hi, I created my first Xen DomU running Solaris today using the instructions from this page Creating Solaris domU virtual disk images at OpenSolaris.org <http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/xen/How-To-07-2006/Solaris-domU/> and it works out of the box! That''s cool again! If you''re going to do the same (and I encourage you to do so!) be aware that it takes a

openssh 2.2.0p1 and F-secure SSH ftp
Howdy, I'm sorry if this is a FAQ but I couldn't reach the openssh.com website so I can't check. Is it possible to use F-Secure SSH FTP 4.1 (client) with the openssh2.2.0p1 server? In the documentation I read that sftp is still on the todo list but "SecureFX (secure ftp)" is supported. Apparently this means there are different ways to do ftp with ssh? In that case which

The problem is, if I select (by left clicking) one of those listbox elements, the current selection in the other listboxes is cleared! Anybody knows how I can prevent this?
