Re: Xen 3.4.1 Configuration Issues with Ubuntu 9.04!
Yes. First remove old :- # rm -fr xen-3.4-testing.hg # hg clone http://xenbits.xensource.com/xen-3.4-testing.hg It takes 20-30 min at 100Kb/sec ADSL connection. # cd xen-3.4-testing.hg # make world. You always run "make world" UNDER xen-3.4-tesing.hg  folder,  NOT under /usr/src. Do it step by step. Boris. --- On Wed, 6/17/09, Jan Muhammad <janmuhd@yahoo.com> wrote: From:

Strange XEN NAT problem
Hello there, I''ve got a problem regarding my XEN network setup. First of all, I''ll just tell you what doesn''t work: the access to a forwarded (natted) port (e.g. port 80 http) of a dom (no matter if dom0 or domU) to the servers external ip address (from "inside") does not work (connection refused). Here''s the layout of my xen virtual network:

FC5 -- Xen 3.0.2 -- iptables with dom0 and domU
Situation: Running a simple UDP client/server program where the client on one domU on one computer sends echo packets to another domU on another computer, server sends echoes back. They do this on a specified port (will use any port between 5000-6000). This program works on non-Xen machines in various environments, Linux and Solaris. Program just hangs on the domUs. I believe I need help with

Networking domU > Internet ping gives "destination host unreachable"
Hello @all, thanks for all the helpfull answers in this mailing list. They helped me compiling a new kernel 2.6.10.11 with Xen 2.0.6 (my first one), setting up a dom0 with RAID, LVM and loop devices for domU, integrating a second network as xen-br1 (I''m calling the /etc/xen/scripts/network script from within /etc/init.d/xend to bring up / down the second bridge.) and bootstrapping

XEN Bridging, Natting and VPN
Hello all, There is a Suse 10 dom0 machine which is acting as a router. It has two ethernet cards, one assinged a public address and the other a private one. The machine also logins to a VPN server on the public network (via eth0) and it can route traffic requests from one network to another. This is the configuration: eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:30:05:AC:15:26 inet

Hack Attack: Moving domU''s between hosts without shared disk
So I have two hosts that I want to move domU''s between, but they do not have any shared disk. I am willing to suffer some downtime to move the domU''s, but not a lot (like maybe the time needed to do a reboot, but certainly not the time required to copy the virtual disks over). This is what I did. WARNING: THIS IS A HACK AND YOU SHOULD BE CAREFUL DOING THIS. But it worked for me

domU networking
Hi list, I''m looking for some help in getting my domU network aware. Currently I can run /etc/xen/scripts/network from dom0 to successfully create xen-br0. After I do this, dom0 can still access any network resource that it could before. However, when I start up a domU, it can only ping dom0; it fails to connect to any other ip. I don''t receive any sort of error message,

routing in xen 3.0: icmp gets routed, but tcp/ip only partially
Hello folks, I have this really strange routing problem that no amount of googling and experimenting has been able to solve. Then again, I''m new to Xen and "advanced" networking, so I could be missing something very basic. Summary: an unprivileged domU with PCI frontend for a NIC is used as a router; icmp gets routed, but tcp/ip only partially. I''m using a

[Xense-devel] [RFC][PATCH][ACM] enforcing ACM policy on network traffic between virtual network interfaces
This patch adds an ACM hook into the network scripts (/etc/xen/scripts). It adds iptables rules that enforce mandatory access control on network packets exchanged between virtual interfaces. If ACM is active, this patch sets the default FORWARD policy in Dom0 to DROP and adds iptables ACCEPT rules between vifs that belong to domains that are permitted to share (determined by using the

[PATCH] HVM SMBIOS v2 0/5
The following patches are a cleaned up version of the HVM SMBIOS patches I submitted last Friday. Differences include (1) SMBIOS is no longer optional for HVM domU''s. (2) The refactoring I did of hvmloader wasn''t really necessary, so I got rid of it. (3) The patches have been tested on changeset 10671:b20580cf7fc1bfe5119597bb5b576cdd020551d5 (4) The versions of strcpy() and

network issue, RHEL4, lack of peth0/peth1 device
Hi! I''m not new to Xen but I''m new to this list. I''m having a truely bizarre problem with Xen bridged networking at the moment. This is a new install, on RHEL4. The symptom is that any domU set up simply fails to talk to anything else. It''s there, and running, and it has an ethernet device, but there''s never any response. After digging through the

AW: problems with Iptables in DomU
Christian, make sure your domU Kernel Modules under /lib/modules/<KernelVersion> have the same vermagic and modversion as your domU Kernel ! Or try loading the ipt_filter module manually with "modprobe -f" also see "man modprobe" Regards, Markus -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: xen-users-bounces@lists.xensource.com [mailto:xen-users-bounces@lists.xensource.com] Im

so close! an iptables rule away.....
Hi, I''ve been making leaps and strides with Xen on FC4. It has been easy to get installed and to start our first virtual host. I''ve got one outstanding issue with iptables that is preventing me progressing further. This is a colo''d server. It has s single NIC with public IPs. The bridge is set to come up binding vif* <> xen-br0 <> eth1. I can start a

Channel bonding on Guest VM being slow
Hi guys, Greetings for the new year The problem faced by me is simple, I cannot get channel bonding to work perfectly with Xen. I am trying to boost the bandwidth of guest domains by using link aggregation (a.k.a channel bonding). I have tried round robin (mode 0) and high availability (mode 1). I know that mode 1 will not give me bandwidth boost. But strangely once i try mode 1 for the guest, I

x86_64 Fedora Core 8 Xen source build fails - help!
I''ve updated a Fedora 8 kernel to 2.6.24.3-34.fc8 and am trying to put Xen into it from the Xen 3.2.0 source tarball. Eventual destination is an OpenSolaris box running x86_64 OpenSolaris 10. However, "make world" fails in the xen-3.2.0 directory. It seems to be searching for something called "linux-2.6.18-xen.hg". Linux 2.6.18 has nothing to do with it, so
