Xen crash on dom0 shutdown
There is a BUG_ON() at xen/arch/x86/physdev.c:169 which appears to be dependent upon guest behavior (should close event channel before un-mapping pirq), rather than on internal hypervisor state. In 2.6.18, this likely goes unnoticed because pci_device_shutdown() only calls all the driver shutdown routines. In newer kernels, however, it also calls pci_msi_shutdown() and pci_msix_shutdown(), which

[patch] define and use cpu_test_and_clear() and some type checking fixes
This patch defines a test_and_clear bitop for cpumask_t pointers. Also fixes "wrong pointer type" for type specific bitops by using &foo [0] instead of &foo. NOTE: hard tabs are not my own :) Signed-off-by: Jimi Xenidis <jimix@watson.ibm.com> -- diff -r b3ca881c903b xen/include/xen/cpumask.h --- a/xen/include/xen/cpumask.h Wed Apr 19 10:26:37 2006 -0400 +++

[PATCH v3] Clear IRQ_GUEST in irq_desc->status when setting action to NULL.
Looking more closely at usage of action field with relation to IRQ_GUEST flag. It appears that set IRQ_GUEST implies that action is not NULL. As result it is not safe to set action to NULL and leave IRQ_GUEST set. Hence IRQ_GUEST should be cleared in dynamic_irq_cleanup where action is set to NULL. An addition remove BUGON at __pirq_guest_unbind that appears to be bogus and not needed anymore.

[PATCH v3] xen/console: buffer and show origin of guest PV writes
Guests other than domain 0 using the console output have previously been controlled by the VERBOSE #define, but with no designation of which guest''s output was on the console. This patch converts the HVM output buffering to be used by all domains except the hardware domain (dom0): stripping non-printable characters, line buffering the output, and prefixing it with the domain ID. [PATCH 1/2] xen, libxc: init msix addr/data with value from qemu via hypercall
Accelerated msix entry is initialized to zero when msixtbl_pt_register is called. This doesn''t match the value from qemu side, although pirq may already be mapped and binded in qemu side. Kernel will get wrong value when reading msix info. Signed-off-by: Zhenzhong Duan <zhenzhong.duan@oracle.com> Tested-by: Yuval Shaia <yuval.shaia@oracle.com> --- tools/libxc/xc_domain.c

[VTD][PATCH] a time out mechanism for the shared interrupt issue for vtd
Attached is a patch for shared interrupt between dom0 and HVM domain for vtd. Most of problem is caused by that we should inject interrupt to both domains and the physical interrupt deassertion then may be delayed by the device assigned to the HVM. The patch adds a timer, and the time out value is sufficient large to tolerant the delaying used to wait for the physical interrupt deassertion.

Xen 4.1.2 PVHVM guest with Linux 3.1.0 network problem, empty MAC address (all zeroes)
Hello, While testing Fedora 16 Xen PVHVM guests I noticed the following problem: When starting F16 PVHVM guest I can see the vifX.0 and tapX.0 interfaces appear on dom0, but after the guest kernel (Linux 3.1.0) starts and loads PVHVM drivers the vif/tap interfaces disappear from dom0.. so the bridge in dom0 doesn''t have any vifs/taps connected to it anymore. Booting Xen 4.1.3 Dom0 hangs with PANIC on CPU 6: Xen BUG at io_apic.c:129
Hi all, I have searched the net and haven''t found a good answer so I hope perhaps someone here can help. I have an IBM x3850 (8863) that I am upgrading from SLES11SP1 to SLES11SP2, and at the same time XEN is being upgraded as part of the distro. The server is used as a Xen host for up to 6 guests. Anyway, the server boots fine with the SLES11SP2 default kernel, and the trace
