Routing problems - Apache proxy vs. Webrick direct
I dropped the use of fastcgi because I could not get popen working (see
''[Rails] Apache2 and popen''). It works under WebBrick. Since CGI is too
slow, I thought I''d proxy to WebBrick via Apache.
I am having routing problems now with escaped slashes in the URL.
Here''s my routes.rb:
map.connect '''', :controller => "wiki"

webrick, cross-thread violation on rb_thread_schedule()
Hi all,
Anyone else seen this? Although it happened while serving Rails, I figured a
core dump caused by webrick should be posted to ruby-talk as well. It happened
after I hit Ctrl-C to kill the webrick server, after a failed attempt to invoke
a web service through a web page. Below are the last two log entries from the
development.log file.
Any ideas?

rescue_action with RoutingError not loading ApplicationController/ApplicationHelper
Why is it that when rescue_action is called with any exception except for
RoutingError, "self" refers to a controller within my application, but when
there''s a RoutingError, "self" refers to an object of
ActionController::Base? This makes some sense because a "RoutingError"
implies that no controller was found to process the request. However, I am
trying to

Controllers in modules, not recognised - driving me mad!
Hi, I hope somebody can help me here but I''m having a very strange
problem getting Rails to recognise controllers inside modules. The
strange thing is, it was working the other day and I''ve not changed
anything as far as I''m aware. I''m running on OSX using Ruby 1.8.4 and
Rails RC1 (but I''ve also tried rolling back to Rails 1.0 and tried Edge
Rails)

multiple refreshs clicks cause errors in WEBrick
Hi all
I am new to rails, so I hope it is not a trivial question...
I am using rails with webrick and MySql4.1 on win XP.
I enter a simple action (with a post method) which fetches some data from a ''users'' table and present it in a rhtml view.
Now when I press the refresh button quickly a few times I get in the command line window errors such as this:

ActionController::RoutingError in actionpack-1.13.2
The specific error is:
ActionController::RoutingError (no route found to match "/application/setservice" with {:method=>:post})
With actionpack-1.12.5 the default route handled /application/setservice.
I have found a workaround by adding the route
map.connect ''application/setservice'', :controller=>''application'',

ActionController::RoutingError (No route matches "/say/hello" with {:method=>:get}):
Hello:
I have found a whole lot of posts on this, however, none of them offer
any sort of solution other than restarting the web server, which I
can''t imagine everyone out there developing on Rails is doing.
I am on page 40 of Agile Development with Rails 3rd edition and trying
to get the missing template error to show but until I restart webrick
I only get the following:

uninitialized constant errors?
Running with WEBrick, I seem to be occasionally
getting these odd "uninitialized constant XXX" errors.
Where the XXX is the first class that whatever action
I run uses (e.g. Product, CartItem etc).
>From the backtrace, it looks almost like the server is
somehow trying to reinitialize?
Any thoughts?
