[PATCH 0/2] Fix SMBios table regressions in HVM guests
The series "HVM firmware passthrough" series in Jan 2013 from Ross Philipson cause two regressions for HVM guests which sadly found their way into the Xen 4.3 release. The first regression causes an incorrect count of tables to be placed in the main header, and can be seen by running dmidecode in any applicable HVM domain. The second regression found its way into the public ABI, making

[PATCH] /sys/hypervisor/uuid
New /sys/hypervisor/uuid, containing this domain''s UUID. Stripping off /vm/ from the value of vm to get the UUID isn''t exactly nice. The alternative is to add a XENVER_get_uuid code to HYPERVISOR_xen_version(), but I''m not sure that''s worth it. Solaris build fix breaks Solaris
16396:055d98aa2dd0 almost works but not quite. LDFLAGS_DIRECT means we end up with: gld -melf_i386 -nostdlib -N -Ttext 0x100000 -o hvmloader.tmp hvmloader.o mp_tables.o util.o smbios.o 32bitbios_support.o acpi/acpi.a Specifying a linker script and asking for -nostdlib is obviously contradictory. Removing $(LDFLAGS_DIRECT) fixes the problem. regards john

It seems the "machine check exception handling" breaks HVM guest
Hi Jan Beulich, > changeset 15414: 3cf5052ba5e5 x86: machine check exception handling With the c/s, when creating HVM guest, I can only see a white Qemu window. :( Can you have a look? Thanks. please ignore previous SMBIOS patches
For some reason, half of the patches I posted on Friday for HVM SMBIOS support haven''t shown up yet. I''m going to try to post a version of them reworked for changeset 11076:f328519053f5a444af475ec10dc8089a0b176e3f in a few moments, so please ignore the previous posts. Thanks! [Xen-ia64-devel][PATCH] Fix Xen crash when creating VTI in some machines.
Xend will do a hypercall to destory domain when creating VTI guest fail. If "is_vti" not be set at this point, HV will call relinquish_vcpu_resource() which belong to domU. It may try to free a NULL pointer, so dom0 crash. This patch fix it. Signed-off-by, Zhang Xin < xing.z.zhang@intel.com > Good good study, day day up ! ^_^ -Wing(zhang xin) OTC,Intel Corporation

[PATCH][XEND]Fix memory allocation for VTi domain with new Qemu on xen-unstagle.hg
Due to IA64 balloon driver not ready and it depends on max memory value to allocate its memory. So this fix is necessary now. Xen 3.2 and Big Real Mode support?
Hello, I read in the announce of Xen 3.2.0 released that it has "preliminary support for a wider range of bootloaders in fully virtualised (HVM) guests, using full emulation of x86 ''real mode''" . I''d like to know what is the level of the emulation of x86 ''real mode''? I ask that because I tried to install OpenSuse 10.3 (I used the iso file

[RFC] Enable _OSI(Linux) for Xen HVM domains
I''d like to send this patch to upstream lkml/linux-acpi, but I want to make sure that the x86 side wants this too. The _OSI method is a way for platform ACPI firmware to determine the features and capabilities of the OS running on the system. This is usually done by calling the _OSI method with various strings in the _INI method of an ACPI device. The strings are things like

[PATCH v2] xen/console: buffer and show origin of guest PV writes
Guests other than domain 0 using the console output have previously been controlled by the VERBOSE define, but with no designation of which guest''s output was on the console. This patch converts the HVM output buffering to be used by all domains, line buffering their output and prefixing it with the domain ID. This is especially useful for debugging stub domains. RFC: [0/2] Remove netloop by lazy copying in netback
Hi Keir: These two patches remove the need for netloop by performing the copying in netback and only if it is necessary. The rationale is that most packets will be processed without delay allowing them to be freed without copying at all. So instead of copying every packet destined to dom0 we''ll only copy those that linger longer than a specified amount of time (currently 0.5s). As it

[PATCH] HVM SMBIOS v2 0/5
