Anyone succeeds HVM on latest x86-64 xen
I tried latest xen and linux-xen staging tree, but failed to run HVM
domain on x86-64 environment. domU creation is OK.
However the weird thing is not HVM domain itself. Instead system
crashed on dom0 context. I saw once with some stack dump that
xen''s page fault handler is executed on a dom0''s stack which then
causes nested page fault due to unable to fetch vcpu pointer.

Cannot startup IA32/IA32pae VMX domain on IA32e platform
We cannot startup IA32/IA32pae unmodified linux guest OS. Booting
32bit VMX domain will stop at printing "ACPI: Unable to locate RSDP".
Booting 32pae VMX domain will get a kernel panic. No abnormal info
found in serial output.
It''s interesting that sometime we can boot Windows 2003. Booting
Windows SP1/SP2 Guest will crash with attached serial output.

in a domU, 6 network interfaces wanted, only 3 seen
Hello,
I need 6 virtual interfaces in a domU (which will be our firewall). I''ve
created 6 bridges in dom0, configured everything correctly...
When I start the domU, it can only see 3 of them : eth0, eth1, eth2.
However, the bridges in dom0 are correctly configured, and I can see all 6
vifs (from vif<DOM_ID>.0 to vif<DOM_ID>.5) when using "brctl show".

trouble updating partial from collection
I have a view where I render a partial over a collection. Each instance
of the partial includes a <div> with an id specific to that instance.
Inside the partial, there is a select tag for "year". I''m trying to
change some of the contents of the partial when user changes the year.
I''m using this in the view:

Mocha and SimplyHelpful
Hi,
I''m getting a conflict between the Mocha plugin and the Rails
SimplyHelpful plugin.
For some reason the dom_id method from SimplyHelpful is not being
found in my views when the Mocha plugin is installed. The dom_id
method if used in the controller works properly.
This is the error I get when running the tests:

Using RJS to highlight one LI if using insert_html on an UL?
It seems common to use RJS for quickly adding and highlighting a list
that is having content added to it like this:
http://rafb.net/paste/results/Z3m32g48.html
... where "my_list" would be an UL and the partial would insert a LI.
Given that example, is there an easy way to highlight only the newly
inserted LI instead of the whole UL? The only way I can see to do it is

mocking methods in the controller.
Hi,
I''m very new to rspec so please be patient with me.
I''ve tried to take some of my tests out of the controller specs to check for
things that are rendered.
This has not worked so well, since my views have the controller method
current_user
in quite a few places.
Is there any way that I can define this so that my views will be executed?
Will this same thing occur for all

[PATCH] Share the IO_APIC_route_entry with iosapic
The patch moves the struct IO_APIC_route_entry to a common place.
This allows us to share the struct with iosapic.
Thanks,

Can we disable secondary_bus_reset in runtime?
I think we need this feature at least for debugging purpose, right?
Or, do we already have this feature?
Thanks,

[PATCH][ioemu] support the assignment of the VF of Intel 82599 10GbE Controller
The datasheet is available at
http://download.intel.com/design/network/datashts/82599_datasheet.pdf
See 'Table 9.7. VF PCIe Configuration Space' of the datasheet, the PCI
Express Capability Structure of the VF of Intel 82599 10GbE Controller looks
trivial, e.g., the PCI Express Capabilities Register is 0, so the Capability
Version is 0 and pt_pcie_size_init() would fail.
We should not

[Patch] Fix the slow wall clock time issue in x64 SMP Vista
In x64 SMP Vista HVM guest (vcpus=2 in the configuration file), the wall
clock time is 50% slower than that in the real world. The attached patch
fixes the issue.

[PATCH] Fix write parameter masking for 32-bit guests.
Changeset 15046:e527b4ff1948 breaks 32-bit HVM guest: when req->size is
4, "1UL << 32" returns 1 in IA32 system, so the mask becomes 0 wrongly.
The attached patch fixes this by using 64-bit left-shift.

A race condition introduced by changeset 15175: Re-init hypercall stubs page after HVM save/restore
For an SMP Linux HVM guest with PV drivers inserted, when we do save/restore (or LiveMigration) for the guest, it might panic after it''s restored.
The panic point is inside ap_suspend():
....
while (info->do_spin) {
cpu_relax();
read_lock(&suspend_lock);
HYPERVISOR_yield(); ----> guest might panic on the invocation of this function.

RE: Xen-3.2.1 VT-d Support (NOT SURE WHETHER IT''S A BUG OR...)
Hello,
I''m also seeing this exact same problem. I''ve posted on xen-users, but did
not get an answer. Venkat seems to be experiencing the same problem as me. I
have the latest BIOS for my motherboard DQ35JO. (BIOS ver 933) I''m running a
Q6600 as well. It hangs at "Brought up 4 CPUs." I''ve tried all sorts of
combinations of Xen versions and kernels to

[Patch] Add NMI Injection and Pending Support in VMX
Currently, Xen does not support injecting an NMI to HVM guest OS. Adding
this
feature is necessary for those softwares which depend on NMI to function
correctly,
such as KDB and oprofile.
The attached patch allows NMI to be injected to guest OS in NMIP capable
platforms.
It also enables to queue an NMI and then inject it as soon as possible.

[PATCH] Included reserved memory regions in dom0 iommu mappings
This adds a boolean boot parameter to xen to allow reserved memory
regions to be added to the iommu mappings for dom0. The parameter
is "iommu_include_reserved" and is off by default. A warning is
also traced when incorrect RMRR to system memory map values are
detected. This is being added to address some incorrect BIOS''s that
do not report correctly the requied reserved memory

[PATCH] Improve the current FLR logic
Hi, all,
The attached patches try to improve the current FLR logic.
The idea is: removing the FLR logic from hypervisor and adding the
improved logic in Control Panel.
The current FLR logic in hypervisor has some issues: 1) Dstate
transition is not guaranteed to properly clear the device state; 2) the
current code for PCIe FLR is actually buggy: PCI_EXP_DEVSTA_TRPND
doesn''t mean the
