I need help integrating ggplot2 into Excel
Dear all
I use ggplot2 extensively for my plotting routines and rexcel to have the
best of two worlds. (RExcel v 1.75 and R (D)Com v. 2.5)
I can run my ggplot functions, such as qplot(...), in scratchpad mode, but
not in Macro nor Worksheet functions mode.
I have tried the following in Macro mode:
Call RInterface.RRun("library(ggplot2)")

acts_as_taggable Produces Bad SQL - Find Fails
I am using acts_as_taggable in my application and on the tagging side of
things, no problem at all. Running edge Rails and PostgreSQL 8.1.
I am then trying to find all my AR objects with a certain tag. The tag is:
lasvegas and I know that there are at least 3 records with that tag.
So, I''m doing this:
@lists = List.find_tagged_with :any => @search_string, :separator =>

samba pdc and nmbd
Hello friends, how are you?
I have a PDC running fine, but for security reasons my network administrator want to disable the netbios over tcp/ip.
My samba is a wins server and my hosts are setup for this wins server by dhcp.
A simple solution is just to disabled the nmbd service, but my clients were unable to logon correctly via PDC.
Is the nmbd service necessary for PDC remote logon?

How to estimate the parameters of differential equations from data
Hello list
I have a theoretical differential equation model (two coupled differential
equations) describing the acidification of dairy cultures in milk:
dX/dt = f(H, param)*X
dH/dt = g(param)*dX/dt
pH = -log10(H)
I also have actual data of the same.
I would like to estimate the parameters of the theoretical model from real
data, but don't know how to go about it in R (I'm fairly new

can't add user to security filter in a GPO
Hello,
we have an Ubuntu 20.04 that was upgraded a while ago from a 16.04,
samba Version is 4.13.17. The Server is a fileserver and a samba domain
controller. Everything looked fine and we barely use GPOs, it was
required to add a a group to a GPO security filter and it does not work,
it worked when it was Ubuntu 16.04 I don't know of the Version in the
past. There is no error message,

Fedora2 and zaptel - using the udev
Hi,
I am sorry if this message has been reposted, but for some reason I am
having problems with posting it.
I configured asterisk and zaptel modules with fedora2.
I want to be able to load the zaptel wcfxo and wcfxs modules.
For now I will use only the Wildcard TDM400P card.
I am able to load the modules but I cant configure them using ztcfg or
zttool because the tools are compiled to use the

SQL bug in acts_as_taggable
Hi,
excuse me if this is off-topic and feel free to ingore it in case.
I''m using acts_as_taggable (the gem version) and found what to me
looks like a bug in this code from the method tags_count:
sql = "SELECT #{t}.#{t_pk} AS id, #{t}.name AS name, COUNT
(*) AS count
FROM #{jt}, #{o}, #{t} WHERE #{jt}.#{t_fk} = #{t}.#{t_pk}
AND #{jt}.#{o_fk} =

Maildir dirty syncs
http://dovecot.org/patches/1.1/maildir-dirty-syncs.diff
This patch adds a new maildir_very_dirty_syncs setting. If set to "yes",
Dovecot assumes it's the only one changing the cur/ directory (so other
MDAs can add mails to new/ without problems). This makes it possible to
avoid rescanning the cur/ directory all the time looking for filenames.
It also looks like (in stress testing)

Re: Can't create any KVM template due to the error with libguestfs
Hi,
Two doubts.
1. What I've to replace in "NEEDED"? or I need to just run the whole
command you given
2. You mean this one,
rpm -qa | grep libguestfs*

Which is better for production: MySQL5 or PostGres8.1?
I''m coming from an Oracle and SQL Server background. I''d like to use
OpenSource for my next RoR project. MySQL5.x and Postgres8.1 seem to be the
most popular. I''d like some comments on which would be the better choice for
a production environment and why. Here are my initial concerns in order of
priority:
1. Works well with RoR. ( migrations, etc)
2. Stable enough

Hidden files problem in R CMD check
Dear Dirk,
Yes, I know, however forget for one moment R.
If I use tar independent of R it still should not create these hidden
files.
BTW, do you know where these hidden files are stored on the Mac?
Best regards,
Christian
