stubdom problem
Hello all Xen devels, I''m writing howto''s in brazilian portuguese language about Xen-3.3.0 stubdom, pv-grub and others configurations. Following what is written in xen-3.3.0/stubdom/README, I tried start a HVM but without success. When I start the virtual machine calling ''xm create hvmtest'' command, in a few seconds the virtual machine is dead (see

[PATCH v2 0/3] hvmloader: Make ROM dependencies optional
This patch set mainly allows the user to build a seabios or rombios only version of hvmloader. In addition, when building a seabios only hvmloader, Option ROMs like vgabios and etherboot are no longer required, and therefore can be disabled from the build. Dependency on the bcc compiler can also be avoided the same way. v2: Separate patches for separate issues Introduced config option to

pxelinux -> pxeboot load?
Hi all, I've searched the depths of the resources on the internet; however I'm having trouble deploying a pxeboot solution via pxelinux. So far what I have successfully implemented in my infrastructure is a successful pxeboot setup for FreeBSD ( without the use of pxelinux ). I'd ultimately like to have a solution that will allow me to choose a network install of various Unix-like

[PATCH RFC] hvmloader: Make ROM dependencies optional
When booting HVMs with SeaBIOS, the BIOS itself takes care of extracting option ROMs from the PCI devices. These ROMs are usually provided with by the device model (qemu). Thus, hvmloader should not require any longer the rombios, stdvga, cirrusvga or etherboot ROMs to be present. Also, the 32bitbios_support.c file is specific to rombios and should not be built when building hvmloader with

Problems with HVM S3
Hello, I am currently trying to suspend a HVM domU via ACPI. However, after "xl trigger vm s3suspend" the virtual machine freezes after 2-3 seconds (I get a prompt at xl console before that!), and keeps printing the following lines: [ 240.428145] INFO: task jbd2/xvda1-8:146 blocked for more than 120 seconds. please ignore previous SMBIOS patches
For some reason, half of the patches I posted on Friday for HVM SMBIOS support haven''t shown up yet. I''m going to try to post a version of them reworked for changeset 11076:f328519053f5a444af475ec10dc8089a0b176e3f in a few moments, so please ignore the previous posts. Thanks! SYSLINUX 3.10-pre20 menu.32 hang in SIS900 bootrom
Hi, HPA: Thanks for the nice new features, appreciate that. Syslinux is always a nice program. For the new version, 3.10-pre20, I encountered a problem now, my client machine uses sis900 chip, and it still can not run simple menu with pxelinux in this version (3.10-pre20). It's same situation as I encountered when I used syslinux 3.07, 3.08 and 3.09. For 3.10-pre20, I compiled in Fedora

pxelinux.0 hangs after it is downloaded.
Hello Everyone, In short, I have the following questions: Is there a known problem with PXE booting and LinuxBIOS? Will pxelinux.0 not work with a serial console? Is there a way to convert pxelinux.0 into an ELF file? The Long Version: I am working on installing Rocks Cluter distribution on a LinuxNetworx cluster. The hardware was donated to my college, and the CS

Multi-NIC network boot floppy+cd+hd+com with PXE and NBI support: does interest?
Hi! I'm preparing what should be a general "network boot" solution for the ones that needs to do network boot on PC without BIOS support / ROM chips. It supports both PXE (like pxelinux.0) and NBI images. I've prepared a precompiled multi-driver image that can autodetect and handle nearly 30 PCI and ISA NICs. My "remote boot kit" contains the same image in 4

[PATCH] HVM SMBIOS v2 0/5
The following patches are a cleaned up version of the HVM SMBIOS patches I submitted last Friday. Differences include (1) SMBIOS is no longer optional for HVM domU''s. (2) The refactoring I did of hvmloader wasn''t really necessary, so I got rid of it. (3) The patches have been tested on changeset 10671:b20580cf7fc1bfe5119597bb5b576cdd020551d5 (4) The versions of strcpy() and

pxelinux.0
I'm not sure if this belongs here or on an etherboot list. I've given up on trying to get a single floppy syslinux with enough stuff to remote mount a file system. I'm trying an etherboot floppy. When I boot the system finds the dhcp server and gets the right file name but then it gives me the message "not a valid image." A quick search of the net didn't help much.

ltsp kernel crash
Hi, I've been using pxe-enabled nic's with an lzpxe-etherboot image generated by rom-o-matic.net to boot a ltsp.org kernel, with dhcp 3 to use if statements to determine which filename option he gives to the pxe/etherboot dhcp client.Explained at http://www.ltsp.org/documentation/pxe.howto.html This works perfectly, except for the fact that you can't use 1 etherboot pxe image for

Improving xen-qemu-dm-4.0 dependencies
Hi, When I first built my Debian package, I needed to depend on qemu-system | qemu, since there was no other ways to pull needed BIOS files. It seems the situation changed, and that I could depend on less stuff from the qemu package. Maybe only the package named "etherboot" and "vgabios". To do that, my plan is to simply package a folder named: /usr/share/xen/qemu with in
