syslinux / pxelinux and color palette.
I'm trying to convert my image so that the colors will remain the same
after I do a clear screen. What I would like to make is a palette for
gimp which I then could use too convert my images, thus achieving my goal :)
I have found a list in which order the colors seems to be arranged.

Boot Sector Booting
Apparently there's a semi-new feature in SYSLINUX that will allow you to,
from what I've heard, boot DOS. I've got a portable USB flash drive and I've
managed to make it multi-boot with disk images, but that takes quite a bit
of memory. I think bootsector booting is the best way to go, but I have no
idea how to do it.
Tell me if I've got this right:
So, I want to get a flash

Is it possible to boot a CD-Image of a bootable CD (no disk emu) via pxe
Hello Peter,
is it possible to boot a CD-Image of a bootable CD (no disk emu) via pxe.
I've build up the infrastructure to boot normal floppy images via PXE
(under W2K and/or Netware).
I have a ISO image of the bootable CD (1 tack TAO eltorinto with an a
single boot sect -> bootimage is 2kB, ISO image about 600 MB)
I suspect that a combination of MEMDISK and PXELINUX with activated UNDI

Isolinux bug: CD bootsector support broken
HPA,
I believe that support to boot windows CD bootsectors was broken
in 3.05. I have tested 2.13, 3.00, 3.02, 3.05, 3.06, 3.08, 3.11, and
3.20pre6. All versions >= 3.05 are broken. All versions <= 3.02 work
fine with the same config. The error message I get is:

trouble booting install CD on old machine
Hi all,
I'm having a bit of an issue booting the full 5.7 install CD on an older
machine. I downloaded the ISOs earlier today, checked the sha1sums, and
burned the CDs with no reported errors. But when I try to boot, the
isolinux banner comes up quickly, but then instead of the boot prompt, I
get a completely blank screen. After 30-60 seconds, I get a message in
purple, the exact wording I

[PATCH v18 01/10] idr: add #include <linux/bug.h>
The <linux/bug.h> was removed from radix-tree.h by the following commit:
f5bba9d11a256ad2a1c2f8e7fc6aabe6416b7890.
Since that commit, tools/testing/radix-tree/ couldn't pass compilation
due to: tools/testing/radix-tree/idr.c:17: undefined reference to
WARN_ON_ONCE. This patch adds the bug.h header to idr.h to solve the
issue.

[LLVMdev] clang .code16 with -Os producing larger code that it needs to
When experimenting with compiling GRUB2 with clang using integrated as,
I found out that it generates a 16-bit code bigger than gas counterpart
and result gets too big for size constraints of bootsector. This was
traced mainly to 2 problems.
32-bit access to 16-bit addresses.

syslinux write intended bootsector to bootsectorfile support?
HPA,
is it possible to add a parameter/argument to syslinux.com/syslinux.exe to specify a file?
currently it's something like SYSLINUX A:
I'd like the following also to be possible:
SYSLINUX A: A:\SYSLINUX.BIN
It still copies LDLINUX.BIN to A:, but writes the generated bootsector intended for drive A: to a 512byte user-specified file
Perhaps to allow both at the same time even SYSLINUX

PXE booting 2.88MB floppy
Hi,
I'm sorry to bring this up again but I can't quit get this too work. I'm trying
to build a 2.88 floppy image so that I can use PXE to load Ghost.
I'm useing the following to get a copy of the bootsector:
dd if=/dev/fd0 of=bootblock bs=512 count=1
Then I build the image file with:
mformat -C -t 160 -s 18 -h 2 -B bootblock x:
Then use mcopy to put the required
