[PATCH][IOEMU] build fix for BSD
Hi!
Attached patch makes git-ioemu compile on NetBSD.
Signed-off-by: Christoph Egger <Christoph.Egger@amd.com>
P.S.: I''m about sending the pieces to qemu-devel. The changes
in vl.c already went upstream in qemu''s svn c/s 5646.

[PATCH][TOOLS] libxc: mmap fixes for BSD
Hi!
On BSD, mmap()ing files works on on-disk files but not on
pseudo filesystems like kernfs or procfs.
Therefore, attached patch mmap()s anonymous memory.
Linux equivalents are sysfs and procfs to above BSD''s pseudo-filesystems.
On Linux, mmap is implemented for sysfs but it is questionable to me
how write operations work since (most) files in sysfs have
static content. So this patch

[PATCH] small mca cleanup
Hi!
The MCG_CAP MSR never returns a negative count of available
error-reporting banks. Thus make nr_mce_banks unsigned.
While here, do some other minor cleanups.

[PATCH][ELF] Correct space calculation for symtab when BSD_SYMTAB=yes
Hi!
If there is a string table for section headers, it also gets loaded.
Therefore take it into account in size calculation for kernel symtab.
Also there is no need to call elf_set_verbose() a second time
after elf_init() (First call happens within elf_init()).

Xen HVM cpuid problem
Hi Keir,
For HVM guests, all cpuid Fn''s going through domain_cpuid()
iterate over the loop and then return 0 for all four registers.
Guests OS''s and cpuid tools in HVM which query for
cpuid Fn 0000.0000 %eax and 8000.0000 %eax, see the value 0 and think,
Xen emulates oldish 386/486 CPUs.
This leads to strange boot failures, "your CPU does not support long mode"

RFC: MCA/MCE concept
Hello!
The current MCA/MCE support in Xen is that it dumps the error and panics.
In the following concept I propose here, there are two places where Xen has to
react on.
I) Xen receives a MCE from the CPU and
II) Xen receives Dom0 instructions via Hypercall
The term "self-healing" below is used in the sense of using the most propriate
technique(s) to handle an error such as MPR

3.1.1 RC4?
Keir,
I noticed that a Shadow patch went into the 3.1.1 staging tree today.
Does this mean that we should expect a 4th release candidate before the
3.1.1 release tag is official?
If so - how much testing time are you going to give that release
candidate before deciding whether a release tag, or another RC round is
appropriate?

Rprof fails in combination with RMySQL
Dear R community,
I tried to optimized my R code by using Rprof. In my R code I'm using MySQL
database connections intensively. After a bunch of queries R fails with the
following error message:

Stubdom and blktap
Recently we had a try of stubdom, whose general status is good.
One issue we found is with aio/sync blktap as backend, disk performance
is obviously slower, and there are some IDE kernel error messages (like
irq timeout) at boot time.
Another issue (not stubdom specific) comes from blktap''s support for
QCOW image which is based on a backing file. We never tried this

Is it true that the GPLPV drivers is incompatible with QCOW images?
The Windows DomU works fine with raw standard "file:/" images, and
paravirtualized Linux DomU works fine with QCOW and raw images.
If i use QCOW images with my Windows DomU''s i get a stop error:

It looks like the blkback.3.hda process, that normally starts with

Re: Live migration with non-shared ZFS volume
Hi Martin,
in the meantime, I've found a solution which I consider at least acceptable:
1. create zfs snapshot of domain disk (/dev/zstore/test-volume)
2. save original XML domain definition
3. create snapshot in libvirt like this:
virsh snapshot-create --xmlfile snap.xml --disk-only --no-metadata
test-domain
snap.xml:
<domainsnapshot>
<disks>

[PATCH] Blktap: Userspace file-based image support. (RFC)
Attached to this email is a patch containing the (new and improved)
blktap Linux driver and associated userspace tools for Xen. In
addition to being more flavourful, containing half the fat, and
removing stains twice as well as the old driver, this stuff adds a
userspace block backend and let you use raw (without loopback), qcow,
and vmdk-based image files for your domUs. There''s also a

!!!!!help!I wouldn't be able to meet the deadline!(qcow format image file read operation in qemu-img-xen)[updated]
Hi,guys,
During a HVM''s running which take a qcow format image file as its own virtual disk, the qcow image file will be always read.In the situation that its qcow format image is based on a raw format image, if nesethe backingfile ,just that raw format image file, would be read .my purpose is to cache the data that is read from the backingfile when the hvm is running .
Now what I concern
