RE: PCI passthrough on PV domU crashes with iommu=soft (fixed)
Fixed : Double amount of memory from 128 to 256 and iommu works it out fine. RTFEM (read the fucking error message) : [ 0.872160] Kernel panic - not syncing: Out of memory and no killable processes... ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Frédéric Abel| RTS France BeNeLux | Quantum Corporation

VGA controller via pci passthrough in domU
Hi, is it possible to use a vga controller in domU via pci passthrough? What''s about nvidia/ati kernel modules? I tried to hide a ati radeon 9200 in dom0 and use it in domU but X fails to start with the following error (seems to be unrelated to the vga hardware): xf86OpenConsole: Cannot open /dev/tty0 (No such file or directory) Thanks & Regards Daniel

pci-passthrough to a pv domu worked in xen 4.2.2, but not in 4.3.0
Hello, my dom0 is an alpinelinux installed with kernel 3.10.14-1-grsec and xen 4.2.2. My domU is an opensuse 12.3 with all patches installed. The system works great, but when I do only switch xen from 4.2.2 to 4.3.0 (packages from http://nl.alpinelinux.org/alpine/edge/main/x86_64/) then my kernel in the domU does an Oops and the drivers for my dvb card aren''t loaded successfully. NMI on domU shutdown with PCI passthrough, Lyon''s 2.6.31-4 dom0, xen 3.5
I started a new thread because this not a pv-ops dom0 anymore. I''m running Andrew Lyon''s 2.6.31-4 patches for a non-pv-ops kernel. Got it again, after issuing "poweroff" from the domU. PCI passthrough to domU does not work with XEN 3.3
Hi! As dom0 I''m running Ubuntu Hardy withe xen 3.3 from backports. Reason to using xen 3.3 is that I could get Intrepid stock kernel to work as domu with xen 3.2. Now the problem I have is that I can''t passthrough PCI-devices to my domu. If I run lspci in the domu nothing is returned. I''ve tried to use the kernel from Hardy (2.6.24-21-xen) and stock kernel from

VGA passthrough to HVM Linux domU
I am having problems getting my 64-bit Debian Squeeze (Xen version 4.0, Linux Kernel 2.6.32) dom0 to pass a Gigabyte HD 5450 graphics card to an HVM 64-bit Arch Linux domU. I have two Gigabyte HD 5450 graphics cards connected to my Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 motherboard. I can pass the secondary card (the one the bios doesn’t show up on) to an HVM 32-bit Windows XP domU (I thought that would be the hard

PCI NIC passthrough problem with RH 2.6.19 kernel
Hi, I have a perfectly running Xen 3.0.4 installation with kernel 2.6.16-42 with PCI passthrough for my internet interface (ethernet). But with I boot my 2.6.19 xen kernel on dom0, I''m unable to have the NIC working in domU. I can see the NIC both in domU and dom0 with lspci. All other network interfaces are working correctly (ethernet in dom0 and bridges). Here is my entry in grub

Dedicated Nvidia PCI passthrough for Linux PVM
Hi, Not trying to be obnoxious on this list. I thought perhaps phrasing the subject line specific will catch some ones eye (hopefully). Would like some help on 2 issues. 1 - I have PCI pass through working for an Nvidia card which is my 2nd graphics adapter and I wish to dedicate it to a particular domU. I had to mod my initrd as follows; mkinitrd -f --preload=pciback

problems with USB and PCI passthrough on Debian Lenny
Greetings, I have Xen installation with all domains (dom0+domU) being Debian Lenny. I''d like to pass my usb printer to one of those domU domains. I couldn''t make usb passthrough to work, so I decided that I will pass the whole usb controller to the domU. It didn''t worked either. I have read tons of internet howtos only to find the solutions proposed don''t

AW: Xen, IRQ-sharing and PCI passthrough
Florian, I read already here and there that you shall not use shared interrupts in different PV DomUs, although I never found a written statement. But behaviour is exactly as you described, thus I took care that cards that share an IRQ are in the same DomU/Dom0. I also selected my motherboards accordingly. When I lately discussed lately with someone about MSI, I had the hope this could help,
