[LLVMdev] Vectorization of pointer PHI nodes
Renato, can you post the c code for the function and the assembly that gcc produces? Your initial example could be well handled by vectorization of strided loops (and the mentioning of VLD3(.8?)/VST3(.8?) lead me to assume that this is what happened). But the LLVM-IR you sent has a store of 0 in there ;) and strides by 4. Thanks, Arnold Vectorization of strided loops: I am using float as the

[LLVMdev] JIT on ARM
Hi. I am trying to run LLVM with JIT on ARM processor (Android phone). Currently I have problems using external functions. Any call to external function crashes and gives me signal 11 (SIGSEGV) at some random address. I'm trying to run following C code: *** extern void add1(int* x); int main() { int a = 10; int b = 20; add1(&b); int c = a + b; return c; } *** It gives

Problem with a if statement inside a function
I have a really long functions, and at the end of the function, I am using a if statement to tag certain keywords based on whether they have certain values contained in them. However, the if statement doesn't seem to work. When I had split up the commands into various functions, it worked fine, but I'm not sure what going on now that it's combined into a single function. myfunc

[LLVMdev] Question about LLVM NEON intrinsics
Hi all, I would like to know if LLVM Neon intrinsics are designed to support only 'Legal' types for NEON units. Using llc -march=arm -mcpu=cortex-a9 vmax4.ll -o vmax4.s on following ll code: ; ModuleID = 'vmax.ll' target datalayout = "e-p:32:32:32-i1:8:8-i8:8:8-i16:16:16-i32:32:32-i64:64:64-f32:32:32-f64:64:64-v64:64:64-v128:128:128-a0:0:64-n32" target triple =

[LLVMdev] Vectorization of pointer PHI nodes
This is almost ideal for SLP vectorization, except for two problems: 1. We have 4 stores to consecutive locations, but the last element is the constant zero, and not an additional SUB. At the moment we don’t have support for idempotence operations, but this is something that we should add. 2. The values that we are subtracting come from 3 loads. We usually load 4 elements from memory, or

how to optimize CentOS XEN dom0?
Hi, I have a problematic CentOS XEN server and hope someone could point me in the right direction to optimize it a bit. The server runs on a Core2Quad 9300, with 8GB RAM (max motherboard can take, 1U chassis) on an Intel motherboard with a 1TB SATA HDD. dom0 is set to 512MB limit with a few small XEM VM's running: root at zaxen01:[~]$ xm list Name ID

[PATCH 0/5] ARM NEON optimization for samplerate converter
From: Jyri Sarha <jsarha at ti.com> I optimized Speex resampler for NEON capable ARM CPUs. The first patch should speed up resampling on any platform that can spare the increased memory usage. It would be nice to have these merged to the master branch. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help the the merge. The patches have been rebased on top of master branch in

[PATCH v3 0/4] Nested VMX: APIC-v related bug fixing
From: Yang Zhang <yang.z.zhang@Intel.com> The following patches fix the issue that fail to boot L2 guest on APIC-v available machine. The main problem is that with APIC-v, virtual interrupt inject L1 is totally through APIC-v. But if virtual interrupt is arrived when L2 is running, L1 will detect interrupt through vmexit with reason external interrupt. If this happens, we should update

[PATCH 0/4] Add posted interrupt supporting
From: Yang Zhang <yang.z.zhang@Intel.com> The follwoing patches are adding the Posted Interrupt supporting to Xen: Posted Interrupt allows vAPIC interrupts to inject into guest directly without any vmexit. - When delivering a interrupt to guest, if target vcpu is running, update Posted-interrupt requests bitmap and send a notification event to the vcpu. Then the vcpu will handle this

Align periodic vpts to reduce timer interrupts and save power
Hi, After c/s 18694 changed vHPET to vpt, for single HVM RHEL 5u1 guest idle case, our box will consume ~0.8W more power than before. The reason is two periodical vpts'' expires are hard to be aligned in the 50us soft timer SLOP. So we are considering a vpt specific enhancement which could try to just align periodical timers within vpt. A generic enhancement is to add a new interface
