[PATCH] Recover from corrupt tdb on reboot
This patch was created for 3.1.0. Based on inspection, I believe the current version has the same problem, but I did not actually try it. I hope you''ll find the patch useful anyway. Xen cannot work when xenstored''s tdb is corrupt. When that happens somehow (and we''ve seen it happen), even reboot doesn''t recover from it. It could: there is no state in tdb

Solaris build fix breaks Solaris
16396:055d98aa2dd0 almost works but not quite. LDFLAGS_DIRECT means we end up with: gld -melf_i386 -nostdlib -N -Ttext 0x100000 -o hvmloader.tmp hvmloader.o mp_tables.o util.o smbios.o 32bitbios_support.o acpi/acpi.a Specifying a linker script and asking for -nostdlib is obviously contradictory. Removing $(LDFLAGS_DIRECT) fixes the problem. regards john

[PATCH] implementation of getpeereid() for Solaris
hi, Solaris doesn't have getpeereid() or SO_PEERCRED. However, getpeerucred() is perfectly usable for that; and it's in Solaris 10 and OpenSolaris. So, ssh-agent(1) security there so far depends only on permissions of the socket directory and with this patch it checks peer's credentials, too. I patched following files using a snapshot from 20060921: openssh/config.h.in

[PATCH 1/4] utils: cleanup unused includes
several errno.h for no good reasons. cleanup losesetup which is not using getopt_long, thus doesn't need getopt.h included. Move stdarg.h include up in losesetup to more proper place. [PATCH] [Xend] Move some backend configuration
This patch moves some dom0 variables and backend device configuration from frontend directories to /local/domain/<backdomid>/backend or /vm. Also, - the first console is created as a xend device and moves from console/0 to device/console/0 - /vm_path/<domid> is introduced, referencing the /vm path - /vm_path/device/backend holds the backend device location, rather than storing it

[PATCH] as fixes for Solaris

[PATCH nbdkit v2 1/3] server: Add new APIs for reading the client’s SO_PEERCRED.
New nbdkit_peer_pid, nbdkit_peer_uid and nbdkit_peer_gid calls can be used on Linux (only) to read the peer PID, UID and GID from clients connected over a Unix domain socket. This can be used in the preconnect phase to add additional filtering. One use for this is to add an extra layer of authentication for local connections. A subsequent commit will enhance the now misnamed nbdkit-ip-filter to

Transaction mapping in xenstored
(Sorry, lost Keir''s mail). I''m unclear on why we have to have the mapping part of solving the xendev problem. Can''t we just allocate a transaction as usual if we see an ID without a transaction existing, mark it as pre-fail, and when we see the transaction end, discard the copy as if it had raced? Surely the ID lookup is guaranteed to fail in the circumstances we care

[PATCH 2/2] loop: switch to linux/loop.h
linux/loop.h header is exported by linux, for userspace to consume. This would prevent issues with struct sizes incompatibilities. Patch for IA-64
Hi, I have ported Samba 2.0.6 to run on Linux/IA-64. I had to make a few modifications to get Samba to configure and compile properly. The mods mostly have to do with missing prototypes which weren't present in system include files (e.g. ptsname()). The biggest pain turned out to be a prototype for crypt() which is defined in <unistd.h> only with -D_XOPEN_SOURCE. Defining this caused
