MCP55 SATA data corruption in FreeBSD 7
I am having problems with silent data corruption on (some) drives connected to an MCP55 SATA controller. I have two servers, both running RELENG_7_0/amd64. One has the 570 Ultra chipset, the other has 570 SLI. Both chipsets have the MCP55 SATA controller. The server with 570 Ultra chipset has a bunch of older 250GB SATA-150 drives hooked up to the MCP55 controller and it is working just fine.

Fully virtualized domU Linux network (VLAN) trouble
Hi, I have a 64bit Debian Lenny server with two physical network interfaces, one is connected to a switch without VLANs (eth0), the other (eth1) is connected to a switch with tagged VLANs (eth1). I''m running a couple of paravirtualized VMs that have no problem using the eth0 interface (bridged). I''m also running a couple of fully virtualized VMs, one being a Linux box (with a

rsync keeps writing files over
Thanks Kevin! I¹m unclear how to read the ‹itemize-changes output. Can you provide some insight? This is a local transfer from an external drive to an internal drive all attached to one computer. rsync -aPh --itemize-changes -n /Volumes/shuttle_05/2012_79_1_14_1__1199_Workprint /Volumes/3TB_LTO/LT003A/ sending incremental file list >f..t.......

Still more questions WRT selecting a mobo for small ZFS RAID
Like many others, I am looking to put together a SOHO NAS based on ZFS/CIFS. The plan is 6 x 1TB drives in RAIDZ2 configuration, driven via mobo with 6 SATA ports. I''ve read most, if not all, of the threads here, as well as sbredon''s excellent article on building a home NAS, yet I still have a number of unanswered questions. I was leaning heavily towards the M2N-E for a while,

rsync keeps writing files over
OK. Thanks. Where can I find information regarding how to interpret —itemize-changes? The timestamps aren’t changing, so the target must not be storing them, which I have no idea why. The directory I’m writing to is 777. What is the flag to tell rsync to ignore the timestamps? Thanks, Blake On 6/2/16, 6:18 PM, "rsync on behalf of Kevin Korb" <rsync-bounces at lists.samba.org on

rsync keeps writing files over
Cool Thanks! Specifically, the timestamps on both <src> and <dest> match for "ls -l" but do not match for "ls -lu" or "ls -lc” The storage is just an regular HDD in a mac pro tower. I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t handle timestamps. Also of note - this problem doesn’t exist for every file, just the vast majority. So, that just makes it more confusing. Yes,

Outbound connections not using primary eth0 IP
Hello: I have a machine running CentOS 5.2 I added two IP addresses to eth0 by copying /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 to /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0:0 /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0:1 and changing the relevant IP info. I am now seeing outbound connections failing at my firewall from services like NTP, etc. since they are now using a source address from one

rsync keeps writing files over
Hi, At my work we use rsync to move files between drives and to LTO among other things. I'm having an issue using rsync to move material between and external drive and an internal drive. We run "rsync -avvPh <src> <dest>" and most of the files keep writing every time I run this. It appears that the modification times are not being carried through to the destination

[PATCH] amd iommu: disable iommu emulation on non-iommu systems
Introduce a new flag to disable iommu emulation on old iommu systems. This patch is taken from my v4 patch queue, which is till pending, to make old or non-iommu system to run cleanly without interfered by iommuv2 codes. This might be helpful to isolate iommuv2 code in debugging unstable regressions. The reset part of v4 will be re-based. Thanks, Wei Signed-off-by: Wei Wang

Latest AMD, IOMMU Security Change causing CPU0 Panic and general Problems with AMD+IOMMU changes
Hi, unfortunatly your latest change "AMD,IOMMU: Clean up old entries in remapping tables when creating new one" (Changeset 26517 in xen-unstable and 25975 in xen-4.2-testing) is causing a CPU0 Panic at boot for me. When i tried to boot latest versions of xen unstable or xen-testing, my dom0 gives me the message: (XEN) ************************************* (XEN) Panic on CPU 0: (XEN)
