Xen, NFS performance, rsize, wsize and MTU
We have a Xen 3.0 / Linux kernel 2.6.15 machine with the domU''s
configured for shared /home directories. One of the domU''s is an NFS
server, exporting /home, and the other domU''s all mount this.
It all functions fine, but it''s pretty slow.
I tried untarring a recent Linux kernel tarball. On the NFS server
domU this takes about 25 seconds. I didn''t

i386 domU on amd64 (xen-unstable)
Hi,
I want to run a i386 domU on my AMD64. I created a LVM partition with Debian
Sarge i386 on it, and set everything up. Now for the compilation of the

vif0.0/veth0 or eth0
When does vif0.0 get created?
Is there some shell magic?
I''m trying to figure out how to do a similar peth1/veth1 split for eth1.

Xen on production enviroment
Hi,
Someone already use xen as production server?
For example: 3 domains (mail, proxy and web server).
And what about stability?
Regards,
Marlon

App virtualisation, not OS virtualisation
I would like to run multiple copies of an application on a PC with
multiple remote dumb clients.
It would seem to me that running Xen would be a sub-optimal solution as
I would need a copy of the OS running for every copy of the application,
but I was wondering whether a subset of Xen or Xen techniques could be used.
There are 2 barriers to running multiple applications with remote access:

bad udp cksum by dns request in domU
Hello
I use XEN 3.0 in debian sarge. I have a domU1 for routing and firewall. This
domU1 use 2 network interfaces which is on a bridge ''gate'' and the other on
bridge ''lan''.
dumU2 use one interface (eth0) on bridge ''lan''.
Then I make a ping out of domU2 to www.debian.de so I get no answer. The name
isn''t resolved. A ping to IP of

CRC Checksum problems causing issues with bridging and maybe things like nfs. Wish we had better documentation. (was Re: XenNetworking - Reason for NOARP on eth1/br1?)

Benchmarking Xen - Xeon vs Opteron. Will memory latency make a difference?
Has anyone done any performance profiling for Xen on different
platforms? I''m wondering if the big (50%+) memory latency advantage
the Opteron''s have over the Xeon''s makes a big difference in the
context of a Xen host with multiple active guest domains.
Particularly at the moment I''m considering the 2-way situation with
the SunFire v20z vs the Intel SR1400JR2.

RE: Fix for SMP xen dom0/domU for x86_64
The Patch I made for SMP dom0 is also applicable to SMP domU. The issue
is same for dom0 & domu as they both are compiled from the same code.
The dom0 fix I sent earlier also fixes the domU SMP issue.
Thanks & Regards,
Nitin

Code 2011.I'm willing to improve LLVM's support for profile
information,follow Bob Wilson's proposal[1].After read his proposal I
have some questions below:
1.Is the "__builtin_expect" works now and how to use it?
I have searched llvm's trunk and found it in two files

X100P/Caller ID: clidtest works, * complains [repost]
Hi,
I'm running Asterisk 1.0.8 on Gentoo, with an X100P (clone) card, and I'm
having problems with Caller ID. I have run clidtest, and it seems happy
enough, returning:-
server clidtest # ./clidtest /dev/zap/1
Number: 0412222222, Name: MOBILE
(that number's fake.) However, I'm not getting the caller ID passed
through with *. Sometimes I get a "failed checksum" like

kvm: C8 as guest on C6 host / huge delay while booting
Since C8.1 kvm guests have a huge delay while booting on a kvm host
based on C6. This delay was not present with C8.0. The "pause" happend
direct after the grub step. The VNC session shows only a "_" character.
Any ideas what changes?
