domU device access : kernel problem
Hi all,
I have a little question about a problem i''m experiencing with the new xen 2.0.7:
I installed in on a debian box, dom0 starts with no problem, also the domains i copied over from my 2.0.6 box start rightaway
BUT:
i needed a custom kernel (i want to play with PCI device acces in domU) so i grabbed the 2.0.7 source
and compiled the 2.6.11-domU kernel (with the standard config)

The problem is not about how to codegen

In the specific example I was talking about the zext came from our

no longer relevant). But you can easily get the same

[PATCH 35/35] x86: Don't panic if can not alloc buffer for swiotlb
Normal boot path on system with iommu support:
swiotlb buffer will be allocated early at first and then try to initialize
iommu, if iommu for intel or AMD could setup properly, swiotlb buffer
will be freed.
The early allocating is with bootmem, and could panic when we try to use
kdump with buffer above 4G only, or with memmap to limit mem under 4G.
for example: memmap=4095M$1M to remove memory

RFC for a design change in LoopStrengthReduce / ScalarEvolution
This is related to an issue in loop strength reduction [1] that I've
been trying to fix on and off for a while. [1] has a more detailed
description of the issue and an example, but briefly put, I want LSR
to consider formulae that have "Zext T" as base and/or scale
registers, and to appropriately rate such formulae.
My first attempt[2] at fixing this was buggy and had to be

Error when using fitdist function in R
Hello everyone,
I was trying to do some distribution fitting with a numerical field called
Tolls. The sample size = 999 rows.
Basically I assigned the Toll data to a new variable K by doing:
k<-dtest$Toll
After that, tried to fit a gamma distribution by doing: fitG<-fitdist(k,
"gamma")
Then the following messages showed (oh and I checked for empty rows before
doing this):

[PATCH] libxc/arm: Correctly handle the difference between virtual and physical address
xc_dom_alloc_page deals with virtual address not physical address. When
an ELF is loaded, virtual address and physical address may be different.

[RFC] Vector Predication
Hi,
There is now an RFC for a roadmap to native vector predication support
in LLVM and a prototype implementation:
https://reviews.llvm.org/D57504
The prototype demonstrates:
- Predicated vector intrinsics with an explicit mask and vector length
parameter on IR level.
- First-class predicated SDNodes on ISel level. Mask and vector length
are value operands.
- An incremental strategy

[PATCH v8 0/19] enable swiotlb-xen on arm and arm64
Hi all,
this patch series enables xen-swiotlb on arm and arm64.
It has been heavily reworked compared to the previous versions in order
to achieve better performances and to address review comments.
We are not using dma_mark_clean to ensure coherency anymore. We call the
platform implementation of map_page and unmap_page.
We assume that dom0 has been mapped 1:1 (physical address ==

[PATCH v2 00/14] xen: arm: 64-bit guest support and domU FDT autogeneration
I''ve addressed all (I think/hope) of the review comments.
The main change is to expose the guest virtual platform (e.g. memory
layout and interrupt usage etc) to the toolstack via the public
interface. This is then used during FDT generation. I have just codified
the current defacto standard layout, it''s probably not the best layout
but any change can be a separate patch/series.

Problem with MTU > 1500, ifconfig segmentation fault
Hi all,
I am using Xen 2.0.7. I have Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5704 Gigabit Ethernet
(rev 02) cards which support frames greater than 1500.
However when I boot into Xen and try to set the MTU to anything higher
than 1500 (e.g., 4000, 8000 etc) I get a segmentation fault. After this
fault, every command fails with a segmentation fault. I saw a similar
bug report posted here:

nls singular gradient ..as always..
Hi all. Sorry for posting again such a topic but I went through previous
posts but couldn't find a solution.
I use the following code to fit an exponential model to my data. I have 4
different datasets. For 3 datasets nls seems to work fine and I have no
error messages. But for 1 dataset I am getting the "world known" singular
gradient error.

[PATCH 00/21] [RFC] Btrfs: restriper
Hello,
This patch series adds an initial implementation of restriper (it''s a
clever name for relocation framework that allows to do selective profile
changing and selective balancing with some goodies like pausing/resuming
and reporting progress to the user.
Profile changing is global (per-FS) so far, per-subvolume profiles
require some discussion and can be implemented in future.

Xen 3.0 Status update

weren''t any formal minutes, here''s a rough summary of what we
discussed/concluded.
Status as of 24 July 2005

Summary: We have a couple of annoying bugs, but things are coming
together nicely.

Errors of doing "make install-tools" with xen-4.2-unstable?
Hi,
When I do the "make install-tools" with xen-4.2-unstable, there are some
errors about "warn_unused_result".
Is it the error in code or the error in the compiling environment? Thank
you so much.

[PATCH v6 00/16] xen: arm: 64-bit guest support and domU FDT autogeneration
Biggest change is to switch the new DTB node to /xen-core-devices
instead of /xen at Stefano''s request.
I also dropped the few patches title HACK etc which weren''t supposed to
be there and fixed up some bits and pieces which folks commented on.
George, WRT the freeze I think this is functionality which we cannot
ship Xen 4.4 without. The impact is entirely constrained to the
