[PATCH] Paravirt framebuffer use xvc as console [4/5]
This is the patch from Amos Waterland for the xenconsole to use /dev/xvc0 instead of taking over ttys. I''ve fixed a few places which needed to check for XVC mode in addition to serial mode. Also, until LANANA responds with an official minor, I''ve adjusted it to use char 250/187 (in the experimental range) as opposed to 204/187. (Should be identical to this patch from last

Can I install Xen-3.2.1 with 2.6.18-xen kernel... to my Dom0 and without HVM, starting a debian(DomU) with kernel 2.6.25 from kernel src and compiled with all XEN port / features ? or i need to use the vmlinuz-2.6.18-xen to all my DomU ?? Framebuffer support in dom0
Greetings! I have installed xen-4.0 with kernel 2.6.32 on a gentoo box. Everything works perfectly, except one tiny detail. I do not have X installed on the machine, so I configured the (old, non-xen) kernel to use a framebuffer, so that I don''t have to cope with the ugly 80x25 resolution, especially on a 19" display. Unfortunately, with the xen kernel, dom0 now uses the 80x25 mode

Centosplus kernel does not have framebuffer support?
I'm still using CentOS 4.6, but have been planning an upgrade to CentOS 5 for quite a while. One of the things that was holding me back is that the CentOS 5.0 kernel did not have the framebuffer support enabled by default. So I waited for CentOS 5.1. However, on one of my test systems I ran into the bad NFS performance issue (see CentOS bug 2635), so I plan to use the centosplus

Framebuffer double buffering (via FBIOPAN_DISPLAY)
Does NOUVEAU support mmaping a double-sized Framebuffer? When attempting to run, where fd refers to "/dev/fb0": mmap(ptr, screensize * 2, PROT_READ | PROT_WRITE, MAP_SHARED, fd, 0); I get back an invalid argument error. This doesn't happen if I only request a single screensize. Is this a limitation of the driver? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

How to get a framebuffer console on dom0
Hi all, I''m trying hard to get a framebuffer console on a dom0 (Ubuntu 7.04/Debian Etch with (virtual)framebuffer support compiled it + Xen3.1) and already tried different tutorials, e.g. starting dom0 with kernel parameters - "xencons=xvc console=xvc0 console=tty1" or - "xencons=ttyS0 console=ttyS0 video=xenfb" and appending "S0:2345:respawn:/sbin/mingetty

[PATCH 00/15] Share TTM code among framebuffer drivers
Hi, > If not for TTM, what would be the alternative? One VMA manager per > memory region per device? Depends pretty much on the device. The cirrus is a display device with only 4 MB of vram. You can't fit much in there. A single 1024x768 @ 24bpp framebuffer needs more 50% of the video memory already. Which is why the cirrus driver (before the rewrite) had to migrate buffers from/to

[PATCH 4/5] drm/bochs: Use shadow buffer for bochs framebuffer console
The bochs driver (and virtual hardware) requires buffer objects to reside in video ram to display them to the screen. So it can not display the framebuffer console because the respective buffer object is permanently pinned in system memory. Using a shadow buffer for the console solves this problem. The console emulation will pin the buffer object only during updates from the shadow buffer.

Cursor blinks in the left op corner when turn on the option "Framebuffer console support" in kernel configuration " make menuconfig"
Cursor always blinks in the left top corner, make the current entered line in the console text can''t be seen immediately! Who can explain this? Thx Andrew Liu _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel

Framebuffer double buffering (via FBIOPAN_DISPLAY)
<div dir='auto'>I am not familiar with that setting, but I have really struggled to find documentation on dealing with the framebuffer. Referring to this guide, "http://betteros.org/tut/graphics1.php#doublebuffer", I attempted to set the mmap allocation size to double, but it caused the mmap to fail. I no longer believe that it is a driver issue, though, because I just

nouveau framebuffer sync polarity
Hello everyone, i use the noveau framebuffer device in kernel version 2.6.37.6. my graphic adapter is a msi 9500gt, connected to a Barco CRT projector. The Barco will only accept RGB signals with a negative sync. Is there a kernel command line parameter to force negative sync polarity? Or is there a user space command to set framebuffer parameters, fbset does'nt work with nouveau frame

Keyboard repeat error - VNC Xen virtual framebuffer
Hello Xen-Users, I am currently provisioning old Linux guests as HVM on a server, and giving clients access through VNC. The current setup uses the default Xen framebuffer as a VNC server (all configuration files have vnc=1 and a few other settings), and my clients are using vinagre (a.k.a. Remote Desktop Viewer) on Arch as their VNC client. Problem: Keyboard input is not consistently handled

Prototype to use QEMU for PV guest framebuffer
As many of us are all too painfully aware we have completely different VNC server implementations for paravirt vs fullyvirt Xen guests. The former based on libvncserver, the latter integrated into QEMU. There are many new and interesting ideas being tried out in the VNC server space in particular wrt to virtualization and having to implement them all twice is not very desirable. Also
