R: tinc on Vyatta?
Hi, I just listed lenny repository and installed tinc from there. I configured tinc interface the usual way but nothing more. It would be interesting to configure the interface from vyatta itself but I don't know how to do it.

Fw: Vyatta VC5 inplace of Xen-bridging.
I have 4 guest VMs installed on 1 host. One of them is
Vyatta (VC5). Currently we are using default Xen-bridge for
communication between VMs(inter-domain or intra-domain).
I want to assign Vyatta(a guest VM) exclusively to replace Xen-bridging for VM to VM communication.
Means the traffic sent from guest-1 to guest-2 bypass briging and route through vyatta(VM), instead of going to Dom0.

Vyatta ISO in DomU
A friend of mine recommended checking out the Vyatta project. I was
reviewing their website and saw endorsements of their product running on
both Vmware and Xen. In fact, they have a Vmware virtual image and a beta
XenServer image.
However, I am running a typical Debian Lenny 64 DomU installed through the
repositories. According to their installation documents, it states that
the ISO can be

RE: Error Creating Domain:vbd:Segment phy:/dev/hda3 isin writable use
I''ve seen this happen before, not sure why. I changed ''phy:'' to ''file:'' and it worked. I later rebooted and ''phy:'' worked again. So you might try ''file:'' rather than ''phy:''.

Regarding the discussion of gateways,
Can the Vyatta routing software and/or hardware appliance solution help?
(The software is open source and available.)

booting from copied ext3 software raid fs to normal fs
Hello.
I am trying to boot CentOS 4 from a copy of an ext3 software RAID 1
filesystem (md) which has been copied to a normal ext3 filesystem (hd). I am
almost getting there, exept that the system hangs after booting the kernel.
I copied the datas from the /boot and / partitions to two similar partitions
on the backuped disk with mirrordir (can also be done with cp or dd). I have

Ext3 -> Ext2 ?
Hi there,
I tried to setup my linux box with an ext3 root file system.
That failed because of wrong initrd settings. Sorry.
Now the filesystem is marked having a journal but there
is no /.journal file anyway. I tried to buikd that
journal by hand (tune2fs -j /dev/hda3 - in my case).
That fails also. :-(
/sbin/tune2fs -l /dev/hda3
says:

Won''t boot to Xen, GRUB Problem
I am installing Xen on a remote server. I left the other kernels on the
grub.conf and made xen the default to boot from. The box didn''t boot into
Xen on reboot but I''m not sure why. Here is my Xen config file:

CentOS 5 Beta Dual Boot Problem
To test CentOS 5, I loaded from DVD adding it to
a system at home running Fedora Core 7 T2.
Partition Layout is:
/dev/hda1 - / for the RH7T2 system
/dev/hda2 - /home
/dev/hda3 - swap
/dev/hda4 - extended
/dev/hda5 - / for CentOS 5
The system loaded cleanly and gave me the
opportunity to tell grub about the other system.
CentOS boots fine. Grub Stage 2 will show me
both systems.

Slightly OT: Debian and CentOS multiboot: menu.lst problem
Hi,
I want to slowly migrate from Debian to CentOS, so I setup a multiboot
on my main machine. There's a Debian Etch install on /dev/hda, and GRUB
is also installed on the Debian side.
On /dev/hdb, I have CentOS 5. I fdisked the drive manually, then chose
manual partitioning during install. The setup for CentOS is:
hdb1 -> swap
hdb2 -> /boot, ext2
hdb3 -> / , ext3

CPU0 is toast error message

I recently tried installing xen on another machine and I''m getting the
"CPU0 is toast rebooting in 5 seconds" message. Reading through past
postings, I was hopeful setting the dom0_mem=128M would solve the problem.
Unfortunately, it didn''t make a difference.
I haven''t fooled with anything on this system -- just a fresh FC4

getting ext3 on suse-7.3? (long post)
greetings.
i have been three days now trying to add ext3 to an existing suse-7.3
machine. i am using suse's own 2.4.13 kernel source.
here is what i have done:
following install, i ran tune2fs -j /dev/hda2 (also hda3 and hda4).
.journal files were created on each partition, apparently
uneventfully. wishing to avoid ai irreversable situation, i initially
edited /etc/fstab thusly:
