limit on the number of NICs per domU
Hello,
Xen FAQ states that there''s a limitation of 3 virtual network interfaces
per domU:
http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenFaq#head-9896478cf65a16f43ab4fb066f74c0e0d67a16ac
My question is: is there any way (like setting some #define or something
in the sources) to rise this limit to 4 or 5? Why is the limit set to 3
actually?
I tried to google, but I couldn''t find any

[PATCH][VT] minor patch for tracing VMEXIT/VMENTRY for 64 bit systems
This patch enables tracing VMEXIT/ENTRY for 64-bit systems (are there any 32-bit
VT enabled systems out there?)

Question regarding behavior of virt_to_bus ....
Hi Folks,
I need some large chunk of physical memory, so I allocate it early using
alloc_bootmem_low_pages and use it later (akin to bigphysarea patch).
The trouble I am having is the following. Suppose the virtual address
for the memory area is 0xc14d6000. After xen_create_contiguous_region
call, I do a virt_to_bus and the bus address comes out to be 0x18000000.
So far so good. However,

xen usage monitoring (munin plugin)
Dear list,
as my Xen3 server is finaly becomming ready for production I was
wondering if anyone has written a xen usage monitoring/logging tool?
Something like xm top, but with continuose logging to a (rr)database.
Or a munin plugin?
I can''t remember seeing anything simmilar on the list.
BTW: where does xm top get the NETTX(k) and NETRX(k) from?
For a munin plugin I''d

ethtool and mii-tool don''t work under xen
Tested on identical hardware (Dell SC1425) with a non-xen kernel, it
wroks fine. However under Xen, this is what happens:
xen1 ~ # ethtool eth0
Settings for eth0:
No data available
xen1 ~ # mii-tool eth0
SIOCGMIIPHY on ''eth0'' failed: Operation not supported
Any ideas?
Thanks,

EXPORT_SYMBOL for get_vm_area ...
Hi Folks,
To build drivers externally using linux-2.6-xen-sparse/drivers/xen/util.c,
I need the symbols get_vm_area and remove_vm_area exported (they were exported
previously - not any more in the latest version).
Am I missing something here?

multiple nics in a xenU
Hi xen users,
I''d like xen0 to be the controller and xenU(1) to be a firewall/router
with 4 subnets (WAN, LAN, DMZ, TEAM) each with 1 of 4 physical nics
attached to it.
Using FC4 with xen-3.0.0-7 with linux kernel 2.6.12.6, default make
world configurations, box is athlon cpu, 512M, 4 nics. On boot all nics
are recognized, lspci shows them to be present.
In xenU there are four ifcfg

Debian DomU with physdev access init kernel crash ....
Hi Folks,
I saw some references to the same problem in mailing list but no solution.
I am running a DomU with PHYSDEV access. With fedora core 4, I just changed
the inittab file to not start getty''s on tty1-6, and it worked (only ttyS0
is enabled). However, same trick didn''t do it for debian. I can boot into a
shell if I put init=/bin/bash on kernel command line. However,

xenconsole: How to get out?
Hi,
XEN has a console that works in text mode ("xm console", e.g. via SSH). However
with a German keyboard I''m having trouble to get out of the console again. Usually
I login to Dom0 from another terminal, and then kill the xenconsole process.
However I''d wish there was an easier way to get out. Maybe add a configurable
escape key like for SSH?

Ulrich

xm save error
Hi,
I tried to issue: xm save VMID FILE, and got the following error:
Error: Error: [Failure instance: Traceback:
twisted.internet.error.ConnectionRefusedError, Connection was refused
by other side: 111: Connection refused.
xm create works fine, xend is running on domain 0, I can log in the VM
through xm console VMID and ssh without problems. I can also stop and
restart the domain.

[patch 5/9] Guest page hinting: mlocked pages.
Add code to get mlock() working with guest page hinting. The problem
with mlock is that locked pages may not be removed from page cache.
That means they need to be stable. page_make_volatile needs
