[Patch[ xl problems with xendomains
Hi,
Ever since xl become the preferred toolstack, I have had problems using
the xendomains startup/shutdown script. Having retested today, it seems
that the issues are now reduced down to xendomains being unable to
restart previously saved domains.
Here is a typical session using xl running Xen 4.2.2 on Ubuntu 64 12.04
bit server, using stock Dom0 kernel (3.2.0-43-generic)

Xendomains always broken for me, nobody else?
Hi All,
Everytime I upgrade to a new version of Xen (just did 4.2.1 this weekend) I find the xendomains script completely unusable. I use xl exclusively and the behaviour is slightly different to what the script appears to be expecting.
Am I the only one that has this problem? I have an Ubuntu 12.04 based Xen server and a Scientific Linux 6.3 based server and both suffer the same problem.
I am

DomU suspension/hibernation
Hey,
I thought there was supposed to be an ability for domU''s to be put into a hibernated state (E.g. current running tasks and memory) when dom0 is shutdown or rebooted. When
I look in my /etc/default/xendomains file, I have the variable''s "XENDOMAINS_SAVE=/var/lib/xen/save" and "XENDOMAINS_RESTORE=true". However, when I reboot, I always have

ubuntu 11.10, system V runlevel compatability
I''m having a problem with the boot sequence hanging indefinitely at "stopping system V runlevel compatibility". Here are the steps I took to get to this point:
1) installed a single boot, server version of ubuntu 11.10 (intended to be dom0)
2) apt-get install xen-hypervisor-4.1-amd64 xen-utils-4.1 xenwatch xen-tools xen-utils-common xenstore-utils
3) updated grub as follows:

Bug#671750: Configuration of domain save/restore broken
Package: xen-utils-common
Version: 4.1.2-5
Severity: grave
Hi,
Between 4.1.2-3 and 4.1.2-5, the sanity checks on the variables
defined in /etc/default/xendomains (XENDOMAINS_SAVE,
XENDOMAINS_RESTORE, etc.) was lost. I can't check exactly when because
there's no Vcs defined for this package.
4.1.2-3 had in /etc/init.d/xendomains for restore:

Bug#655581: xen-utils-common: network-bridge breaks the network setup when using ethernet bonding.
Package: xen-utils-common
Version: 4.0.0-1
Severity: important
If using ethernet bonding and network-bridge with xen the network-bridge scripts breaks the network.
I have run through the commands manually in irder to establish the culprit.
In the op_start function (Starting on line 214) everything is fine up until line 251.
At this point the bridge has been created, devices renamed and the

I upgraded my server from squeeze to wheezy and then to jessie. Server is Intel S3200SHV m/b with

squeeze, I forget the name.

Easiest way to compile custom kernel, for fedora +openswan+xen+patchomatic
I want to compile a custom xenU kernel for a firewall distribution
(endianfw, version of ipcop), I can get it to load up but the kernel is
missing some modules that aren''t resident. So I want to make a custom
version for this domU, I know what I need kernel+openswan+xen+patch-o-matic
but I not sure the best way to go about this, do I patch a fedora source or
start with a vanilla kernel?

changing behavior of xendomains stop
I''m running xen 3.1.2 as bastardized by RedHat on a redhat
clone operating system. I''m using the xendomains script
as it came out of the box to start my domU''s at boot
and stop them at shutdown.
There are three problems right now:
1) left to its own devices,
service xendomains stop
attempts to do "xm save" on each of the domU''s. that

CentOS 5 Xen Files Left in /var/lib/xen ..
I have a machine with four guests on it, and it seems to create and
leave lots of files with names like vmlinuz.LqKA3h and initrd.kolvQu in
directory /var/lib/xen. The remain there even when all guests are
gracefully shut down .. and additional ones get created when they are
next started.
The end result, of course, is that the root file system fills up. So ..
how can I prevent this from

I'm using openssh-4.3p2 compiled for sparc-sun-solaris2.8. I'm trying

I've just set up a fresh Jessie system using the installer dated 2014-03-05,
then installed and enabled Xen 4.3. I've done this quite a few times before
using Wheezy and 4.1.
I set up xenbr0, then created a test domU using xen-create-image, which
completed without issue. However I was unable to start the new

xen domU shutdown and save
Hi There,
Having some trouble discovering how to shutdown domU's without saving
them. I have some awful power from the grid causing the backup battery
system to initiate shutdown's on dom0, which is the desired result,
however domU's are saving (which I don't want) and this takes a very
long time (for whatever reason). As they shutdown, console does this

Rsync via ssh hangs on same file repeatedly
Hi all,
I'm having problems with an rsync via ssh process hanging during transfer.
The basic problem, (gory details to follow):
I've set up a machine on my LAN to act as the receiver and have two
(soon to be more) remote servers transferring files via a script.
It seems as if certain files are causing the transfer to hang. These
are different files on each of the sending machines,
