pciback module not working
This issue was brought up about a year and a half ago. So I''ll bring it up again and see if anything happens. I''ve got an infiniband network and am attempting to pass the infiniband card through the host and give it to the guest. I''m working with standard CentOS 5.2 on both guest and host with their provided xen (3.0.3 ish). I''ve also attempted to install the

glusterfs over rdma ... not.
OK - finished some tests over tcp and ironed out a lot of problems. rdma is next; should be snap now.... [I must admit that this is my 1st foray into the land of IB, so some of the following may be obvious to a non-naive admin..] except that while I can create and start the volume with rdma as transport: ================================== root at pbs3:~ 622 $ gluster volume info glrdma

Re: [openib-general] problems with lustre o2ib module & ofed

Re: [Xen-smartio] Problem with infiniband on Xen domU
Hi Lamia, Currently there is no direct InfiniBand access support in the Official Xen trees. You might want to have a look at our Xen-IB implementation. A preliminary version can be downloaded here: http://xenbits.xensource.com/ext/xen-smartio.hg Some information about its design and applications can be found here: High Performance VMM-Bypass I/O in Virtual Machines (Usenix 06), and A Case for

Configuration...
Hi have what might be some elementary questions. Really, what I"d love would be for someone who has had good success to publish his/her configuration files and, maybe, the output from ifconfig. At this point, when I see the not-so-good performance I"m getting, I don't realistically know if I'm in the right ballfield. It seems to me, that with so many mellanox cards out

Loop-vectorizer prototype for the EPI Project based on the RISC-V Vector Extension (Scalable vectors)
Hi all, At the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, we have been working on an end-to-end vectorizer using scalable vectors for RISC-V Vector extension in context of the EPI Project <https://www.european-processor-initiative.eu/accelerator/>. We earlier shared a demo of our prototype implementation  (https://repo.hca.bsc.es/epic/z/9eYRIF, see below) with the folks involved with LLVM

OFFTOPIC :: IB hardware choice
Hi! I would need an advice from those that use IB (as admins :) ) i have a choice between : 1. Mellanox InfiniHost? III Lx HCA card, single-port CX4, DDR, PCIe x8, mem-free, tall bracket, RoHS R5 2. QLogic Single Port 20 Gb InfiniBand to x16 PCI Express Adapter (Single Pack) aside the price is there anything else that could help me make a discrimination between this two? (these will be used in

Clustering question \ dist(datmat)
Hello everybody. I am trying to cluster circular data (data points which are angles), thus i can not use the "dist" function in "mclust" to generate my distance matrix, I am using the function " Dij = 0.5*( 1 - cos(theta_i - theta_j)). The thing is "hclust" will not accept this distance matrix, i tried to put it in a data frame, but again i get an error message

mthca use of dma_sync_single is bogus
It seems the problems running mthca in a Xen domU have uncovered a bug in mthca: mthca uses dma_sync_single in mthca_arbel_write_mtt_seg() and mthca_arbel_map_phys_fmr() to sync the MTTs that get written. However, Documentation/DMA-API.txt says: void dma_sync_single(struct device *dev, dma_addr_t dma_handle, size_t size, enum dma_data_direction direction) synchronise a single

(OT:) Tool for trying/troubleshooting WAN/LAN
Hi folks! This is sort of OT but I thought maybe someone had a tip for me. What I'm looking for is a tool that I can install on two computer for example, put one on each side of the customers WAN and "try" the connection - simulalate x calls (using codec xxx) and get statistics out of it (delays, jitter, dropped packets and that sort of things). I have looked at ethertap (to debug

iptables rules for lustre 1.6.x and MGS recovery procedures
Hi, I would like to know what TCP/UDP ports should i keep open in my firewall policies on my MGS server such that I can have my MGS server fire-walled. Also if in a event of loss of MGT would it be possible to recreate the MGT without loosing data or bringing the filesystem down (i.e. by using cached information from MDT''s and OST''s) Thanks Anand

Lustre Solution Delivery
What is the process for integrating a Lustre+SAMFS solution into an existing customer environment. The plan is to have CRS build the Lustre component, but Lustre and SAMFS will need to configured and integrated into the customer computing environment. I am very familiar with the SAMFS integration, but not Lustre integration. Do we have resources in PS to provide the integration? Is this

Mellanox SR-IOV IB PCI passthrough in Xen - MSI-X pciback issue
Greetings Xen user community, I am interested in using Mellanox ConnectX cards with SR-IOV capabilities to passthrough pci-e Virtual Functions (VFs) to Xen guests. The hope is to allow for the use of InfiniBand directly within virtual machines and thereby enable a plethora of high performance computing applications that already leverage InfiniBand interconnects. However, I have run into some

An update on scalable vectors in LLVM
Hi all, It's been a while since we've given an update on scalable vector support in LLVM. Over the last 12 months a lot of work has been done to make LLVM cope with scalable vectors. This effort is now starting to bear fruit with LLVM gaining more capabilities, including an intrinsics interface for AArch64 SVE/SVE2, LLVM IR Codegen for scalable vectors, and several loop-vectorization
