context switch
In debugging the sles9 port on 64 bit MP machines, I am seeing a problem where the hypervisor takes a fault in loading fs in the context switch code (load_segments()). The selector is one of the TLS selectors. It appears that the cpu in question has updated this selector with a value of 0 just prior to the problem I am seeing. Looking at the Linux context switch code, we first update the TLS

[PATCH 1/1] hv: Use only one receive buffer per channel and kmalloc on initialize
Correct issue with not checking kmalloc return value. This fix now only uses one receive buffer for all hv_utils channels, and will do only one kmalloc on init and will return with a -ENOMEM if kmalloc fails on initialize. Thanks to Evgeniy Polyakov <zbr at ioremap.net> for pointing this out. And thanks to Jesper Juhl <jj at chaosbits.net> and Ky Srinivasan <ksrinivasan at

[PATCH]: An implementation of HyperV KVP functionality
I am enclosing a patch that implements the KVP (Key Value Pair) functionality for Linux guests on HyperV. This functionality allows Microsoft Management stack to query information from the guest. This functionality is implemented in two parts: (a) A kernel component that communicates with the host and (b) A user level daemon that implements data gathering. The attached patch (kvp.patch) implements
