Compiling vorbis-tools on FreeBSD
Hi there, I'm having some problems compiling vorbis-tools on FreeBSD 4.2-STABLE. My configure line is ./configure --with-ogg-prefix=/usr/local \ --with-vorbis-prefix=/usr/local \ --with-ao-prefix=/usr/local --prefix=/usr/local I have to put the --prefixes in because I don't know how to tell the compiler to look in /usr/local/include instead of just in /usr/include. Without the

Using winbind authentication with Windows 2003 AD - SSH login failures
Hi all, I have been trying to setup authentication of users on a Linux server against Windows server 2003 using winbind. I am at the point where an su - ADUSERNAME works, but sshing as that user still doesn't work. When I try to ssh as an AD user as follows: ssh -l "RILINUX+testuser" server.domain.com I get the following output in /var/log/messages: server pam_winbind[5906]:

Unstable file systems since upgrading to RedHat 7.2 Ext3
Hi, We have upgraded our server with RedHat 7.2 and changed the filesystem for the new Ext3 format. Since then we are having troubles with NFS and Samba file systems. Our server export directories to Windows clients through Samba and to other Linux (RedHat 7.2) through NFS. It is also connected through NFS to a RedHat 7.0 server. Since we changed for Ext3 filesystems, we experience to main

Booting dom0: Kernel Panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
Hello list, I tried to install Xen 3.1.0 on Scientific Linux (RHEL4), but this mission failed.. Hope you can help me by finding the reason for my problem. I downloaded the xen sources from http://bits.xensource.com/oss-xen/release/3.1.0/src.tgz/xen-3.1.0-src.tgz and compiled them by running "make" and "./install.sh". This seemed to work. After setting up grub like this,

[PATCH] builder: run/schedule a SELinux relabel if needed
If the guest uses SELinux, then make sure to run a relabel (or at least schedule one) after the image build: this way the template is relabelled, or at least it will do that at the next boot, without the need for the user to ask for a relabel. This just covers the case of building a new image with no additional operations on it though. --- builder/website/centos.sh | 2 ++

How to reach listeners behind corporate firewall
Hi, I know two solutions for that. 1. You set up icecast to broadcast on the 80 port (there's a <port> tag in the xml). If you run a webserver on the same machine, then you can't do this. 2. If you run a webserver on the 80 port, you can set up the webserver to relay the stream through it. If you use apache, you need something like this in your httpd.conf: <VirtualHost

Need help trying out new mboot.c32
Hi all, I've started writing a new mboot.c32 using the Syslinux native APIs; it is currently on the new-mboot branch of the Syslinux git repository. However, I don't have a huge number of things which use Multiboot set up to test, so I'd really appreciate it if you're a user of mboot.c32 to help me try this and report back positive or negative. I don't have the Solaris DHCP
