Is anyone successfully using acts_as_ferret with Ferret 0.11.4?
Hi all,
I upgraded from Ferret 0.11.3 to Ferret 0.11.4 because I was getting
intermittent segfaults that seemed to be due to a bug which was fixed
(changeset 749).
Unfortunately, 0.11.4 + acts_as_ferret seems to be a bad combination. I''m
getting the some "fs_store/File Not Found Error occured at <except.c>:117"
which was reported in the "Constant 0.11.4

acts_as_ferret, Displaying score on a search results page
Am I missing something or would I need to use find_id_by_contents and
populate a results list with my own objects (or add ''score'' to my AR
instances and populate that) in order to be able to get a score out when
iterating the results (like on a search results page)?
Said another way, it seems find_by_contents does not provide any access
to score in the resulting list. Is

I have four models, each with their own separate index.
Models = Articles, Blogs, MusicTracks, and MediaFiles
I have individual searches within each section of the site working just
fine, but I want to have a gloabl search that searches across all of
them at the same time and returns the results ordered by score.
Here''s how far I am now...

acts_as_ferret 0.3/ferret .10.9, and i''m getting a strange behavior:
searches are returning far too many results, most of them superflous.
i''ll paste in my code below, it''s pretty simple. i''m googling like mad,
and going through both the source and the forums, and having trouble

Indexing weirdness
Hi,
I''m having some problems with acts_as_ferret and indexing. I''ve got a
simple 5 column table, and a corresponding Ruby model. I loaded 9 rows
directly into the table using mysql (for live it''ll be about .5mil rows)
and configured a Rails search page along the exact same lines as
ferret_demo.
Unfortunately, search wouldn''t return any results; following

scoring problem in acts_as_ferret
Hi,
I am using acts_as_ferret and have a problem with scoring. I would like
to organize it in such way that, if any of the searched terms fits, I
get 1.0 score as a result. I will explain it on the example.
I have in index:
a) "one two three four"
b) "one two three"
c) "one two"
d) "one"
When I search for "one" I would like to get 1.0 score for

problem with TermQuery
This might be more of a Lucene question, but I can''t figure it out. How
come this works:
Item.find_id_by_contents("name:Bob")
but this returns no results:
Item.find_id_by_contents(Ferret::Search::TermQuery.new(:name, "Bob"))
Thanks in advance!

Ferret and Paginating Find
Hey all,
I''ve been really happy with ferret thus far and all my search on my site
is based on it. One of the recent challenges I ran into is changing some
of my pagination within my site. Until now, I just used the tutorials
out there that talk about how to get pagination working with
acts_as_ferret.
Recently, I decided to change my pagination to begin using the

strange behavior after switching to DRb server
After switching to the DRb server, I am experiencing strange behavior
when sorting on score. My app was working as expected before the switch.
Both before and after the switch, my app sorts properly on other
fields, such as date.
For sorting on score, I am using the following option
find_by_contents option:
:sort => Ferret::Search::SortField::SCORE
Before switching to DRb, this worked
