[PATCH v8 0/19] enable swiotlb-xen on arm and arm64
Hi all,
this patch series enables xen-swiotlb on arm and arm64.
It has been heavily reworked compared to the previous versions in order
to achieve better performances and to address review comments.
We are not using dma_mark_clean to ensure coherency anymore. We call the
platform implementation of map_page and unmap_page.
We assume that dom0 has been mapped 1:1 (physical address ==

confused about the balloon code
hi
I try to understand the code of balloon ,and got confused about the
following parts of code:
static int decrease_reservation(unsigned long nr_pages)
{
....
if (!PageHighMem(page)) {
v = phys_to_virt(pfn << PAGE_SHIFT);
scrub_pages(v, 1);
ret = HYPERVISOR_update_va_mapping(
(unsigned long)v, __pte_ma(0), 0);

[RFC 00/14] arm: implement ballooning and privcmd foreign mappings based on x86 PVH
This series implements ballooning for Xen on ARM and builds and Mukesh''s
PVH privcmd stuff to implement foreign page mapping on ARM, replacing
the old "HACK: initial (very hacky) XENMAPSPACE_gmfn_foreign" patch.
The baseline is a bit complex, it is basically Stefano''s xenarm-forlinus
branch (commit bbd6eb29214e) merged with Konrad''s linux-next-pvh branch

Problem with MTU > 1500, ifconfig segmentation fault
Hi all,
I am using Xen 2.0.7. I have Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5704 Gigabit Ethernet
(rev 02) cards which support frames greater than 1500.
However when I boot into Xen and try to set the MTU to anything higher
than 1500 (e.g., 4000, 8000 etc) I get a segmentation fault. After this
fault, every command fails with a segmentation fault. I saw a similar

[PATCH 1/6] xen: balloon: allow PVMMU interfaces to be compiled out
The ARM platform has no concept of PVMMU and therefor no
HYPERVISOR_update_va_mapping et al. Allow this code to be compiled out
when not required.
In some similar situations (e.g. P2M) we have defined dummy functions
to avoid this, however I think we can/should draw the line at dummying
out actual hypercalls.

Problems with vTPM manager
Hi,
I am following http://xenbits.xen.org/docs/unstable/misc/vtpm.txt, but
I''m having some problems when I try to start vtpmmgr-stubdom
I''m using Xen 4.3 on Ubuntu 12.04 and I have a physical TPM.
The config file for vTPM manager is:
kernel="/usr/local/lib/xen/boot/vtpmmgr-stubdom.gz"
memory=16
disk=["file:/var/vtpmmgr-stubdom.img,hda,w"]

[PATCH] make balloon driver not return pages which are in [xen_start_info->nr_pages, max_pfn] on ia64
make balloon driver not return pages which are in
[xen_start_info->nr_pages, max_pfn] on ia64.
On ia64 memory might be assigned sparsely. In that case
xen_start_info->nr_pages and max_pfn doesn''t match while pages which are in
[xen_start_info->nr_pages, max_pfn] are used.

[PATCH] GSoC 2010 - Memory hotplug support for Xen guests - third fully working version
Hi,
Here is the third version of memory hotplug support
for Xen guests patch. This one cleanly applies to
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/jeremy/xen.git
repository, xen/memory-hotplug head.

Hi,
I am sending this e-mail once again because it probably
has been lost in abyss of Xen-devel/LKLM list.

Question regarding behavior of virt_to_bus ....
Hi Folks,
I need some large chunk of physical memory, so I allocate it early using
alloc_bootmem_low_pages and use it later (akin to bigphysarea patch).
The trouble I am having is the following. Suppose the virtual address
for the memory area is 0xc14d6000. After xen_create_contiguous_region
call, I do a virt_to_bus and the bus address comes out to be 0x18000000.
So far so good. However,

Confused about start of day setup
Hi,
I hope I''m right here. If not then please point me in the right
direction.
My problem in short:
I have problems using (pinning, mmu_update) physical pages from
0x900000 to 0xB1000 usualy.
I''m writing my own little amd64 64bit toy kernel (based on Mini-OS as
starting point) for xen and I run into problems with the way the start
of day sets up the physical pages.
My kernel

Install vTPM on Xen-4.2.2
Hi,
I‘m trying to install vTPM based on Xen-4.2.2, linux-kernel 3.9.1 (Dom0)
and TPM emulator. However, I cannot find the TPM backed driver in this
version of Dom0 linux kernel. There is no CONFIG_XEN_TPMDEV_BACKEND in the
kernel config file. The config file for Dom0 is attached. Maybe it provides
some useful information.
So, how to install a Xen TPM backend driver in the Dom0 linux-kernel.

Balloon driver for Linux/HVM
Hi,
I have noticed that, in the code of linux/drivers/xen/balloon.c, there exists the snippet as this:
static int __init balloon_init(void)
{
unsigned long pfn;
struct page *page;
if (!xen_pv_domain())
return -ENODEV;
.....
}
Does it means the driver will not work in HVM? If so, where is the HVN-enabled code for that?
