[PATCH] fix udevinfo version string parsing
check_hotplug fails on one of my machines running ubunto 4.10 "Warty Warhog", due to misparsing the udevinfo version string. The problem is caused by an old version of sed that does not appreciate the regexp. This patch fixes it, and also works on debian unstable and SLES9SP2. Please apply... intermittent domU issue: related to udev?
Hello list. My server: Gentoo 2.6.21-xen dom0 xen-tools 3.2.1 lvm 2.02.28-r2 udev-115-r1 Symptoms: normally I run 4 domUs. About once a week I have a need to restart a domU. Sometimes it works just fine, but other times it does not and I''ll get a message back saying "Error: Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working". The domU config file has not

APC SmartUPS 2200XL + UDEV + USB = tcgetattr : Invalid argument
I need direction. I don't know what to google for anymore. I am unable to get my SmartUPS 2200XL to be recognized. My suspicions are that it's UDEV or Kernel related. I've updated the kernel to the highest version I feel comfortable with due to other things that run on the server, and I've updated UDEV a bit too. When I plug in the USB cable from the UPS into the server, I

a possible heads up wrt CERN experiment breaking SL 5.6
This may or may not be of interest to CentOS developers; if it is not or if it is redundant of your efforts to keep atop of what's happening, you have my apologies. Whether it is joint or disjoint wrt to the upstream code is not known at this point, but I have submitted a request for elucidation if CERN security allows. kind regards/ldv ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Ewan

RE: [Xen-users] Re: upgrading Xen3.0.4-1 to Xen-unstable ...
Hi, On a slightly different topic there seems to be some sort of issue with Intel chipset 915G and windows 2003. The guests seem to stop responding after some time unless you connect via VNC to the guest and move the mouse over the window, the guest them comes back to life. Another guy said it was like a symptom that he had seen before called ''lost interupt'' I was wondering if

RE: Error "Device 0 (vif) could not be connected"
Yes, I saw that problem and removing the vif line or changing it to vif0 fixed it for me. tap:aio not working...
I''m running SLES10 SP1 and have been using file:/ for my file-backed domUs. The domUs sit on a shared OCFS2 SAN-backed filesystem and are run on my three or four XEN servers. I''m having issues with the loopback devices not being released when the domUs shutdown or migrate, so I decided to switch over to tap:aio for my file-backed domUs. This isn''t working, either.

Only one app keeps me on Windows - Can WINE free me?
Currently, there is only one application that is keeping me on Windows, and that is the TivoDesktop software that lets me DL episodes from my Tivo, and in conjunction with the DirectDump tool, allows me to convert those Tivo files to standard MPEG-2 files for editing. Does anyone have experience running TivoDesktop under any version of Wine under any distribution? I'm rather distro agnostic

Re: "corrupted or invalid kernel" immediately.
Yes, I found the root of the problem... it's hotplug, which shouldn't be enabled during the early boot. So, I just "chmod 644 /sbin/hotplug", then I created /init: ************* #!/bin/sh echo "Running networkboot prescript" /bin/chmod 755 /sbin/hotplug exec /sbin/init </dev/console >/dev/console 2>&1 ********* and made initramfs with it.
