Apache proxy to lighttpd leads to Rails routing error
Hello, I have an issue I am having trouble figuring out. I have a Rails app running through lighttpd which is accessed through an Apache proxy. My apache config: <location /rails/> ProxyPass http://localhost:81/ ProxyPassReverse http://localhost:81/ </location> RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^/rails/(.*) http://localhost:81/$1 [P] So when apache sees /rails/ it

RoR&Apache - htaccess rewrite directories fail?
On my server I have a directory at the root, /rails/ which contains other directories with rails projects. In my httpd.conf I have RewriteEngine On RewriteLog "logs/rewrite.log" RewriteLogLevel 9 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/rails/([^/]+)/public/ RewriteRule ^/rails/([^/]+)/?(.*)$ /rails/$1/public/$2 [QSA,L] So with a GET /rails/test/ you''d get sent to /rails/test/public/ and

Routing problems - Apache proxy vs. Webrick direct
I dropped the use of fastcgi because I could not get popen working (see ''[Rails] Apache2 and popen''). It works under WebBrick. Since CGI is too slow, I thought I''d proxy to WebBrick via Apache. I am having routing problems now with escaped slashes in the URL. Here''s my routes.rb: map.connect '''', :controller => "wiki"

Routing Error - Recognition failed for..
I followed the guide for RailsOnWindows (http://wiki.rubyonrails.org/rails/pages/RailsOnWindows) and completed all the steps without any problems. But when I try to access my page, I get: Routing Error Recognition failed for "/rails" rails is what I have in my httpd.conf: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName rails DocumentRoot "D:/devapps/Apache

Proxy from Apache to local Lighttpd instance
Hello, I''m having a serious problem proxying from Apache (2.2) to local Lighttpd servers. I need this to run Rails instances on www.mysite.com/rails next to the regular part from www.mysite.com. Currently I get a working www.mysite.com/rails for only the first page, controllers do not work. I am quite desperate in getting this to work as it is the only way I can run Rails at our

Routing error "unitialized constant" after refactoring
Hi. I''ve heavily refactored an application. When I access http://0.0.0.0:3000/ I now get the stack trace at the end of this mail. My routes.rb: ActionController::Routing::Routes.draw do |map| map.connect '''', :controller => ''user/dashboard'', :action => ''boo'' map.connect '':controller/:action/:id'',

Re: Recognition failed for "/dispatch.cgi"
The problem turned out to be fairly simple. The main problem: Apache handles the ScriptAlias directories so that all files are "executed" rather than served. I''m assuming also that Apache doesn''t bother looking at the .htaccess files therein, either. So instead, I had ''rails'' put everything into my web document area. The path issue seems to be

routing failures
probably something really simple but I don''t understand. Shifting to Apache to w/ fastcgi (definitely feels faster than webrick) Anyway, I set the default route in routes.rb to be map.connect '''', :controller => "placements", :action => ''list'' which worked once I figured out apache... Anyway, now that I have done that, all attempts

RoutingError -- but only for one controller
This one has had me stumped all morning, so any ideas would be a big help. I''m getting the following error for any request to one of my controllers, ''client'': ActionController::RoutingError (Recognition failed for "/client/new"): /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/actionpack-1.12.1/lib/action_controller/routing.rb:488:in `recognition_failed''

Apache/fastcgi setup can''t find custom config/*.yml file!
All, Apache 2/FastCGI on Linux My fastcgi config. file is set up to run the "test" RAILS_ENV. When I go to access a view associated with a particular controller, I keep getting a ENOENT (file not found) error on a custom config. file that I am attempting to load. What I can''t figure out is why it can''t find the file. Here''s the code that loads it in my

Rename dispatch.fcgi and routing stops working
I would like to rename dispatch.fcpi to host1_dispatch.fcgi, host2_dispatch.fcgi, etc in order to allow Switchtower to kill the right fcgi dispatch processes on deployment. But when I rename dispatch.fcgi routing to the controllers stops working, any ideas why this file name is important? ActionController::RoutingError (Recognition failed for ""):

app no longer runs - MissingSourceFile for any controller
Hello all. I somehow managed to break my rails app running under Apache 2 with fcgi. With any action I try, it throws an exception saying it can''t find the source file. For instance, requesting an action in my welcome_controller results in: MissingSourceFile in <controller not set>#<action not set> No such file to load -- app/controllers/welcome_controller.rb The log

Routing error for css?
I can''t remember when, or what I was doing, but now I can''t retrieve the CSS files for my sites layout (I don''t think ror is handing them out properly). I''m pretty sure that I didn''t touch anything. I don''t know much about routes yet (I checked the routes.rb file with a freshly generated one, and it was the same). What can be gleaned from

Rewrite problem or routing issue?
I''m not able to access anything in public, everything seems to be going through the rails router. As a result, I can''t get to stylesheets or javascript. I''m not quite clear if this is a .htaccess problem, or a router problem. I eliminated the "catchall" route, so the last route is map.connect '':controller/:action/:id'' My .htaccess file
