(actually just walking out to the runway) I want to setup a development / test environment as close to the production environment as possible except for OS (Win XP for Dev, Linux for Prod). What is the likelyhood that major inexpensive webhosts like godaddy, bluehost, etc. will upgrade to RoR 1.1? The php guys make a good argument that Rails is good for new applications where we dictate the DB schema. PHP shines where we go into an existing application, or a new one where multiple databases or possibly legacy systems are involved. The PHP guys basically say Rails is good for Web 2.0
