Machine is SMP (hyperthreaded). PAE dom0 boots fine on CPU #0. PAE domU is bound to CPU #1 by default and boots to the login prompt as well, but only with NX disabled (and

RE: [PATCH] supporting non-NX/XD capable processors onx86_64 xenlinux
I have always needed the rm_nx_xd patch to boot Xen / Dom0 on the ES7000 x86_64 but the system boots without any issues on plain vanilla Linux 2.6. > -----Original Message----- > From: xen-devel-bounces@lists.xensource.com [mailto:xen-devel- > bounces@lists.xensource.com] On Behalf Of Keir Fraser > Sent: Thursday, August 18, 2005 4:49 AM > To: Nakajima, Jun > Cc: Jerone Young;

nx-bit and TPM
Hello, I'm was looking through handbook and wikipedia and it appears FreeBSD doesn't support hardware (nor software) nx bit. There also doesn't seem to be any support for TPM (Trusted Platform Module). I was wondering if it is due to a general lack of interest and/or personal preference (gcc?) or are there other issues. The reason I'm asking is I'm currently doing a MSc degree

NX bit with paravirt ops
Hi, I''m trying to get PaX (http://pax.grsecurity.net) working on a 64-bit paravirt_ops guest under xen. One of the features that PaX uses under a 64-bit kernel is the NX bit. I''m using the paxtest utility (available at http://paxgrsecurity.net) to test whether the NX bit is working. On a host with NX support, a 64-bit 2.6.18 xen kernel has a working NX bit. Under a vanilla

Update on "non-dying" nx connections over unreliable network
Dear Sirs & Madams: Thank you so much for your help. To remind, my situation is a wireless connection that is unreliable, where: (a) upon disconnect, !M's nxclient does not recognize connection death (b) after I manually kill nxssh and reconnect, reconnection takes some time. My idea: intercept myself in between NX client and server - detect connection drop, and reconnect. This is

new freenx and nx RPMS released, manual action for x86_64
There are new RPMS released for nx and freenx in the CentOS-4 and CentOS-5 Extras repository. I normally do not announce that here, as those can easily be obtained on a normal "yum upgrade/update", however in this case there are special actions required *_IF_* you have the x86_64 architecture for either CentOS-4 or CentOS-5 with the current versions of nx and freenx installed. Plotting in R within NX client
Hello, has anyone tried doing this? Local System: NX client (windows version) Remote System: Linux Fedora Core 5, running on 64 bit Intel R 2.3.1 The plots display weird in the sense that the y-labels don't show, i.e. they appear as solid black rectangles rather than numbers. I know the problem has something to do with NX because when I was about to screenshot the problem to send to this

[PATCH] fixup 3dnow! support
qemu recently added support for 3dnow instructions. Because of that, 3dnow will be featured among cpuid bits. But this will break kvm in cpus that don't have those instructions (which includes my laptop). So we fixup our cpuid before exposing it to the guest. It appears that NX does not work anymore. nx version 3.4 glusterfs version 3.0.7 Description of users problem: "Not sure how whatever you did would affect this, but nomachine freenx that has been installed and was working from day one, isn't working anymore. NX on 4.5 vs 5.0
NX connections to my 4.5 server give "cramped" looking fonts (as if the resolution were wrong). Connections to my 5.0 server look great regardless of the resolution. Both use GNOME. Is there anything I can do to the 4.5 servers to increase the quality of the NX connections? Thanks, Scott
