Failed Network
I''m at my wits end maybe someone out there can help me. Machine Shuttle AN51R Motherboard 1GB ram AMD-64 3000+ (2GHz) 20GB HD (western digital) with 1GB for minimal install, 500MB for swap, and the rest I had planned to use for LVM volumes for VMs. I''ve been running ubuntu 5.04 (hoary) happy as a clam for a while now no problems. Now I''ve started investigating Xen

multiple nics in a xenU
Hi xen users, I''d like xen0 to be the controller and xenU(1) to be a firewall/router with 4 subnets (WAN, LAN, DMZ, TEAM) each with 1 of 4 physical nics attached to it. Using FC4 with xen-3.0.0-7 with linux kernel 2.6.12.6, default make world configurations, box is athlon cpu, 512M, 4 nics. On boot all nics are recognized, lspci shows them to be present. In xenU there are four ifcfg

network-bridge - tg3 - no network
Hi, i have some problems with xen-3.0.1 and the network-bridge script. After ''/etc/init.d/xend start'' or ''/etc/xen/script/network-bridge start'' everything works perfect (as well as the domU''s network) - but only for a few seconds (~20s). After that the network seems to crash - no outgoing or incoming connection possible. I have read a forum

x86_64 - Dom0 will not boot on EMT64
I am unable to boot Dom0 on my IBM eServer BladeCenter HS20, type 8843, EMT64 blades. I have read reports that Dom0 boots on Opteron boxes, but on my EMT64 blades, it does not. Has anyone else encountered this problem on EMT64 hardware? Here are the errors I am getting: This is on a SLES 9 box, gcc version 3.3.3 (SuSE Linux): kernel (hd0,0)/boot/xen.gz dom0_mem=256000 com2=19200,8n1

Traffic going to wrong interface?
I have a samba server with 2 ethernet ports, one of which is a gigabit port. When connecting from a windows client that has a crossover to the gigabit port, and a crossover to the 100Meg port: If I connect via \\gige.ethernet.address\foo , and copying a large file, windows reports outbound traffic on the gige port and return traffic on the 100Meg port. Thus, it seems the samba server sees the

dma_alloc_coherent issue with tg3 in x86_64 build
During boot of dom0, I get the following. Box is remote, so I''m now waiting for proxy power button pusher ;-) tg3 init fails doing dma_alloc_coherent (I assume this is from tg3_init_one -> tg3_test_dma -> pci_alloc_consistent -> dma_alloc_coherent). Looks like an issue with the amount of memory in dom0. Is this known? thanks, -chris root (hd0,0) Filesystem type is ext2fs,

[Xen-ia64-devel] RE: IPF/Xen VTI domain testing report for Xen 3.0.3 RC1
>5. LTP testing might run very slow in SMP VTI Domain with credit scheduler. If binding VTI >and Xen0 vcpu, this bug won''t be there. Hi keir, In credit scheduler, two vcpus in the same domain may be scheduled on the same CPU. For instance, vcpu0 and vcpu1 are running on the same CPU, vcpu0 is doing spin_lock in guest, then time slice is due, vcpu0 is scheduled out before doing

Bug xen/next.. WARNING: at /home/konrad/git/nex-VI-PVOPS/linux/kernel/irq/manage.c:274 __enable_irq+0x5c/0xaf(
Jeremy, This one looks quite familiar. I think I pointed this one out to you the first time I started working on pv-ops (so, June/July?) and you had a fix for it, but I can''t remember the details (except that you did ask me to review it, and I did, but I didn''t send any details back). Any ideas? This is against xen/next as of today with this commit being at the top: commit

[stable 9]Dell R620 Ethernet Ordering
I'm trying to understand the newbus and acpi interactions on this Dell R620 that result in the Broadcom adapter board being probed "backwards" or just plain out of order in comparison to the connector layout and the linux tg3 driver. We seem to be detecting PCI0:2:0 before PCI0:1:0. This seems odd to me. When I replace the broadcom daughter card with an intel daughter card, this

Gigabit Ethernet and samba network bandwidth
Hi all, I am notice strange behaviour of samba in our mixed fastEthernet/gigabitEthernet enviroment. First of all let me to describe our situation. We have a samba server running debian unstable with 2.6.3 kernel installed. Server has a gigabit copper connection (tg3 driver) to the 100/1000 Megabit switch (3COM 4228G). Client is a WinXP/Linux workstation connected by ordinary 100 Megabit

tg3 ethernet card drops connection under heavy load
We have an HP DL360 server with dual on-board Tigon3 ethernet cards. We are using eth0, eth1 is unused at the moment. Sometimes when the network interface is under heavy load, for example moving large file transfers over rsync or NFS, the network interface stops working and we lose all connection to the server. The only solution at this point is to jump on the console and restart the network

OFF TOPIC: Core router upgrade for a voip colocation center
Hello, hope this isn't too far offtopic here but being a troller for a long time here I've realized there is a great knowledge base so I wanted to at least see if i could get some tips. I help run a small colocation company in California and I am in the middle of recommending a new 'core router' platform for our network. We offer mainly colo and dedicated servers, and several of

question re ip rules logic
Hello everyone, Please excuse these basic questions but I am new to Linux and I am getting desperate for answers. We are running redhat linux and after many hours of investigation I am unable to get a certain ip rule and ip route command combination to work. These are the software versions installed. gigE -> 100Mb problems
I've got a pair of identical CentOS 6.7 servers, with SuperMicro X8DTE-F motherboards, these have 2 each Intel 82574L ethernet ports. The eth0 ports are plugged in with 10' runs of brand new cat 5e cable to a Cisco Nexxus 9000 switch (provided by the data center). These servers keep coming up at 100baseT rather than gigE. I've swapped ports and cables with a different server,
