[PATCH] x86: replace some intpte_t * casts

RFC: [0/2] Remove netloop by lazy copying in netback
Hi Keir: These two patches remove the need for netloop by performing the copying in netback and only if it is necessary. The rationale is that most packets will be processed without delay allowing them to be freed without copying at all. So instead of copying every packet destined to dom0 we''ll only copy those that linger longer than a specified amount of time (currently 0.5s). As it

[PATCH 0 of 3] RFC Paging support for AMD NPT V2
There has been some progress, but still no joy. Definitely not intended for inclusion at this point. Tim, Wei, I added a Xen command line toggle to disable IOMMU and P2M table sharing. Tim, I verified that changes to p2m-pt.c don''t break shadow mode (64bit hypervisor and Win 7 guest). Hongkaixing, I incorporated your suggestion in patch 2, so I should add your Signed-off-by eventually.

[PATCH] Fix performance problems with mprotect()
While working on a database scaling problem using a SAP database test suite we discovered that these enterprise level large shared memory databases are very heavy users of mprotect(), to the extent that the performance overhead in current Xenolinux impacts scaling beyond a few cpus quite badly. A single cpu run under Xen has a nominal impact, but scaling out to 8 cpus results in a performance of

Grant-Table Enabled netif?
Earlier this month there was a patch posted for switching the network frontend/backend drivers to using grant tables. The patch won''t apply cleanly to the current tree. Is there an updated patch available? Any word on how it works, or when it might be merged into the mainline? --Michael Vrable _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list

newbie question on Xen booting
Hello every body, I am installing the XEN on Fedora, and get some trouble when I boot XEN first time. During the XenLinux booting, a error was issued "Warning: unable to open an initial console" and then system booting stoped. Does any body has a clue on the problem? wei _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com

Walking an HVM''s shadow page tables and other memory management questions.
Hello, I''m new to Xen and especially to the hypervisor code. I''m working off a 3.0.4.1 base and have the following questions regarding the memory management code for an x86, 32-bit platform (capable of supporting PAE). I''m doing some research into providing grant table hypercall support from a Windows 2003 HVM. I have made all the necessary changes to allow the

Xend, File Descriptors, and Children
I was having trouble restarting xend; oftentimes, after I stopped it, it wouldn''t start again. The problem was that xend was unable to open /dev/xen/evtchn because the device was already open. When xend brought up a network interface, I had it set to call a network script that configured DHCP for the new interface. Since dhcpd doesn''t support reloading its configuration, I

Question about blocksizes
Hi, can someone explain whats the meaning of the two blocksizes in the first header of Vorbis, please? So far I assumed that they meant that 2^b0 and 2^b1 were the only two blocksizes used during the whole encode, but something makes me believe they are not: if b0 and b1 are 0xb8 respectively (that I interpeted as 2^11 = 2048 and 2^8 = 256) I observe 3 different deltas between each couple of

Xen debugging question (x86-64)
Hey guys, I have the x86-64 domU building code for libxc just about ready. It totally gets through the library and creates the domain. But once it does it reboots the machine (and no output to show what happened via the serial console). What techniques would you guys use find out (excluding excessive printks ....I''m doing that right now) what is going on in xen and tracing back to the

how to auto-report LLVM bugs found by fuzzing?
Bugs found by oss-fuzz in llvm are now public: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/oss-fuzz/issues/list?q=proj-llvm (and the new ones will be public too). I've also added llvm-bugs at lists.llvm.org to the list of e-mail recipients: https://github.com/google/oss-fuzz/blob/master/projects/llvm/project.yaml On Tue, Aug 29, 2017 at 4:27 PM, Justin Bogner <mail at justinbogner.com> wrote: >

how to auto-report LLVM bugs found by fuzzing?
Hi, We have several llvm fuzz targets running on OSS-Fuzz, a continuous automated fuzzing service: https://github.com/google/oss-fuzz https://www.usenix.org/sites/default/files/conference/protected-files/usenixsecurity17_slides_serebryany.pdf It has reported a few bugs in cxa_demangler, clang, and dwarfdump already, and we expect to add more fuzz targets to it soon (llvm-isel-fuzzer,

generic default values
I have a generic function test.equal <- function(obj1, obj2, ...) UseMethod("test.equal") however, the only argument that specific methods use is "fuzz" so I would like to change this to test.equal <- function(obj1, obj2, fuzz=???) UseMethod("test.equal") The problem is that some methods use slightly different default values for fuzz than others. How should

Using Libfuzzer on a library - linking the library to the fuzz target
I am working of using libfuzzer and asan to test out a third-party library. As demonstrated in the tutorial, I wrote a fuzz target to fuzz a specific function in the library. The fuzz target is then linked to the library and compiles clean and I do see some tests generated by the fuzzer. However, I have some questions regarding the "right" way to go about doing this. I have doubts that

Connected Line ID
Hai, Does anybody have problems with a wrong Connected Line ID with asterisk version 1.6 The following bug was for version 1.4, but I cannot make up if this bug is still in version 1.6 http://forums.digium.com/viewtopic.php?t=7780 In version 1.8 it is possible to change the Connected Line ID, but this isn't the case in version 1.6 Regards, Arjan Kroon Mobillion BV
