AOE (Ata over ethernet) troubles on xen 2.0.6
I understand that all work is going into xen3, but I had wanted to note
that aoe (drivers/block/aoe) is giving me trouble on xen 2.0.6 (so we
can keep and eye on xen3).
Specifically I can''t see nor export AOE devices. As a quick background
on AOE, it is not IP (not routable, etc), but works with broadcasts and
packets to MAC addresses (see http://www.coraid.com).

[Fwd: [Xen-changelog] Move xcs to unix domain sockets.]
Just forwarding this changelog from yesterday. xcs now uses Unix domain
sockets in unstable. This was a hot thread a couple months back with strong
opinions on both sides and no clear resolution on the list, so I thought
some people might like to know the developers'' resolution. This should be
good news for those seeking tighter dom0''s, particularly those who

Xen3 on Etch - Rebooting when 2nd DomU started
Hi All,
Fairly new to Debian and Xen but I have a box running with lots of DomUs
under Xen2 and it is fine.
I have setup a new IBM eServer P4 and loaded Etch and loaded Xen3.
It runs up my first DomU beautifully but when I start my second DomU it
crashes the PC and reboots.
If I comment out the line in /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp
(network-script network-bridge)
It will run 2 DomUs
Have I run

Input from xen hosting providers?
This is my second mail because the first one turned into a two page novel.
Basically my question is this, what is your opinion on the following,
in regards to having to know about the os and USE in your hosting
environtment. Here is my problem...
We have a sales guy that sold people on the idea of having 4 windows
clients, and 2 "filestore" servers. filestore1 backs up to filestore2

Need Help: Sometimes Stop during smbd start
Hi
during Startup of SuSE-Linux 7.2 Prof. the PC is sometimes
( 1 of 10 times) stopping by start smbd. Reset knop the help
only. I have this problem with the samba version in SuSE
package and version 2.2.5 too. In the file ../rc3.d/S12smb I
added 2 lines to see if nmbd and smbd are startet.
I see nmbd is starting always, the text "SAMBA smbd
gestartet" is in case of fault not printing.

Your opinion: What's the best VM for Samba DC's
Hi all,
I know this isn't strictly Samba related, but I have a fileserver and want
to install some VM software on it so I can build a new Samba DC on there
and still keep the fileserver running.
In your experience, what's the best VM to install?
Are there any which wok better or worse with Samba? Does it make any
difference?
I'm running Ubuntu 20.04.1
Thanks!

Online resizing disk Windows Dom U
Hi,
We have some problems with Xen 4.0.1 and resinzing of lvm volumes.
When I resize a lvm volume with "lvresize -L+50G -n
/dev/data/windows-data" the Windows Dom U don''t scan the new size of the
lvm volume.
The only way to see the extend is to halt and create the DomU

Running Xen 2.0 for Counter Strike: Source
I''m running Xen on a dual xeon system at the moment and somehow the
results are a bit less than what i expected. Ive started to do some
monitoring on it to see how bad it is. you can see for yourself on:

pdb missing files?
Hello,
I''m trying to get PDB working in accordance with the instructions at
http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~sos22/replay.bk/docs/misc/XenDebugger-HOWTO and
a message from this list:
http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2004-08/msg00017.html
When I try to build pdb I first get errors because the Makefile is
configured to treat warnings as errors, and there are some warnings.

"table(droplevels(aq)$Month)" in manual page of droplevels
The last line of the example in droplevels' manual page seems to be incorrect to me. I think it should read: "table(droplevels(aq$Month))". Amazingly (I don't understand) both variants seem to produce the same result (R 3.3.3):

> aq <- subset(aq, Month != "Jul")

[PATCH] Daemonize xcs
Currently xcs is run by xend in xen-unstable by simply making it a child
process. If you launch xend from an ssh session, the session won''t exit
because the xcs still is connected to it''s controlling terminal.
xcs should daemonize itself to prevent this from happening. This patch
does that along with making the domain id => port mapping dynamically
allocated.

Odd behaviour in within.list() when deleting 2+ variables
The behaviour of within() with list input changes if you delete 2 or more variables, compared to deleting one:
l <- list(x=1, y=2, z=3)
within(l,
{
rm(z)
})
#$x
#[1] 1
#
#$y
#[1] 2
within(l, {
rm(y)
rm(z)
})
#$x
#[1] 1
#
#$y
#NULL
#
#$z
#NULL
When 2 or more variables are deleted, the list entries are instead set to NULL. Is this intended?
