PXE-booting Xen using PXELINUX
Hi all,
A number of people have posted to the Xen lists recently wanting to
network-boot Xen on machines whose NICs are not supported by GRUB. I''ve
been writing a module for PXELINUX that will allow it to boot Xen
directly over the network on PXE-enabled machines, without relying on
any hacks (mbootpack, &c.), or needing to write/port any device drivers.
I have a version of it

Loading Xen with PXELinux
Hi All:
I found this old message on the web archives. I've gotten Xen working with
PXELinux, albeit with something of a hack. The basic chain is:
1. pxelinux
2. memdisk
3. FAT16 floppy image
4. grub installed on floppy image
5. xen.gz and vmlinuz on floppy image
While this seems pretty simple, the key bits were to use:
1. FAT16 (not ext2, etc) for the floppy image
2. use the 'raw'

[PXELINUX]A PXE booting question, please
Hi all,
I was trying to install Red Hat Linux 7.3 on my computer through network
install. I had setup TFTP server and Linux network install server. DHCP
server is ready as well. The ROM of onboard network card was enabled,
the chip on the card is Realtek R8111B.
Everything was fine at the booting stage, machine got the IP and booted
up with the pxelinux, then kernel vmlinuz and initrd.img

Virtual machines booting PXE - PXELINUX
Hello, new to the group. We have been using PXELINUX for some time now with
great success. However, with the recent spawn of virtual machines now
supporting PXE boot, has anyone been able to mount the disk in this
enviornment? Could someone direct me to any information on how to mount and
or partition drives? I have discovered the same issue with the HP DX2200
model of PC. For example if I run

Can I use pxelinux to boot a cdrom image or isolinux from pxe?
Greetings,
I've been a user and fan of SYSLINUX for a couple of years now. I use PXELINUX
for a PXE server. I've only been able to boot linux kernel/initrd images and
dos bootdisks, however now I'm wanting to create a boot image for the 'Rescue
Is Possible' (RIP) linux recovery disk -

Loading Xen with PXELinux
Greetings:
[ First, apologies if this has been discussed before. I looked through
about the last year's worth of archives, but couldn't find a "Search
feature", so I used the visual grep method, which is not foolproof. I
also tried to download the full text of the archives to use the real
grep, but I got an error loading it... ]

Pxelinux freezes/reboots where PXE boot option boots normally.
Hello,
I got in a situation where pxelinux 3.7 (or 3.6) reboots constantly after
loading the configuration file and displaying the 'display' option file, but
never showing 'boot:' prompt.
config file is following:
# PXE SYSLINUX config file - look at
# http://syslinux.zytor.com/faq.php for syntax

pxelinux - how to direct client to find source files for pxe loading
I've got a Fedora 13 box that I am using as a pxe server to pxe load
client machines. Using dhcp, tftp, and http I have been able to
succesfully pxe load clients. However I am now trying to serve up
multiple images via a menu, and not having any luck in configuring my
pxelinux.cfg/default file to direct clients to the appropriate source
repositories. I do have the pxelinux.cfg/default file

pxe hangs on Trying to load: pxelinux.cfg/default

I just recently ran into a problem booting pxe on a new model laptop,
the Fujitsu P1610. Here is my setup first of all

server
Windows 2003 (TFTP Server), using tftpd from windows 2003 server
Tftpboot folder containing pxelinux.0 (v3.31) and numerous boot images,

[pxelinux] fix for Realtek PXE implementation
I found (and fixed) a problem with my realtek onboard 8139 controller.
dhcpd server sends filename "pxelinux.0" but realtek requests
"pxelinux.0\377"
(i.e. the octal character 377 is appended), resulting in a file not found
during
the tftpd phase.
I fixed this by adding a mapping to tftpd:
# strip ending garbage from filenames (Realtek PXE bug)
r ^([[:graph:]]*)(.+)$ \1

pxelinux: Forward control to another PXE server
Hello,
We currently have a pxelinux setup, where our servers are offered a set
of firmware update and linux installation options, when an operator
configures them to do a network boot.
Now our Windows guys wants to setup another PXE/TFTP solution (Microsoft
ADS) to help them with their installations. They also need access to the
firmware update options from the existing solution, so I'm

pxelinux.0 not fully booting in EFI 64 mode...not requesting ldlinux.e64 via TFTP...
Spike,
There are multiple binaries that come with syslinux. I would highly recommend that you start with the official syslinux pre-built's of pre-7 on kernel.org. You will find inside an syslinux.efi in a 64 bit folder and one in an 32 bit folder.
These are the files that you need to point your clients to for efi booting. pxelinux.0 is for bios booting only.

PXELINUX gets stuck when receiving non-PXE traffic
Hey,
I am running a custom-built router (based on a PCengines apu2c4 board, see
https://github.com/rtr7/router7 for details) on which I am using PXE boot
for recovery purposes, i.e. reverting to an older version of the
software/configuration. In this scenario, my workstation acts as the DHCP,
TFTP and HTTP server, and my router PXE boots into a recovery program.
I have noticed a couple of times
