Icecast 2: planned stuff.
Hi there.
First, some words about what the context is over here.
I'm a member of a french working group assembling several non profit
organisation members that intend to help promoting free software usage,
and in this case ogg vorbis and icecast.

Final Fantasy XIV Online Beta/Benchmark
Hi there
Square Enix' new MMORPG is nearing its release and there are alpha/beta clients available. The beta does not work at all in wine, just weird network connection errors when it trys to connect to their servers. The official benchmark starts but 3D is not rendered, just a black screen.
This is the console output:
Code:

FFXI Ultimate Collection: Abyssea Edition Install
I know the HowTo deals with installing FFXI from a DVD but I'm having problems installing this from an .exe downloaded from the Square Enix Store. Basically the installer runs, and I'm able to continue in the installer, then select the components to install (POL, FFXI and all 4 expansions). However, when I click Next, the Installer skips to the Install Completion window. Note that this

Public free (libre) mailbox hosting service for everybody!
Hello e-mail software developers and users!
I'd like to ask all of you a question. And of course hear relevant
opinion.
I've been using free software happily for a few years, and I found
free/open source alternatives for many popular proprietary tools such as
Facebook, Dropbox, Micro$oft Windows & Office, Youtube, Skype and many
many others. Some of the alternatives are probably

Playonline needs 32-bit true color
I installed playonline under WINE on Ubuntu. It installed without any problem, and when I went to load it up it even starts to open up like it would in windows. But then an error appeared:
_______
Error Code = 20008027
Can only be displayed properly in 32-bit true color. Start Playonline viewer anyway?
_______
If I click no, it closes. If I click yes it actually starts up, plays music, and I

Icecast 2: planned stuff.
Hi there.
I had a look at how icecast 2 works after having been pleased by how
icecast 1 worked.
I succesfully made it work on a debian woody (for those interested at
how i did it http://melmoth.dyndns.org/stream/ It's in french yet).
I was however disapointed a bit by not finding the admin console I used
to find in icecast 1.
So, several questions: is this admin console planned to be

xen usage monitoring (munin plugin)
Dear list,
as my Xen3 server is finaly becomming ready for production I was
wondering if anyone has written a xen usage monitoring/logging tool?
Something like xm top, but with continuose logging to a (rr)database.
Or a munin plugin?
I can''t remember seeing anything simmilar on the list.
BTW: where does xm top get the NETTX(k) and NETRX(k) from?
For a munin plugin I''d

unexported symbols in libR.so of r-devel
Thanks to Matthias Burger, I came to know that in r-devel, a lot of symbols
are no longer exported in libR.so, which breaks the package rpvm since it
calls these functions in serialize.c.
R_InitInPStream
R_InitOutPStream
Since the change is fairly recent (earlier this month), I guess the core team
will be making further changes. In any case, please add these two to the
exported list.
Thanks,

libR.so: cannot open shared object file
Hi all
I have a R code that incorporates a C++ programm. I compiled the C++
code with the following:
R CMD SHLIB Model.cpp -Wall funzioni.cpp
it seems to work fine but when i run the R code i get this error message
Error in dyn.load(paste(dir_func, "Model.so", sep = "")) :
unable to load shared object '/lustre/work/uuu/RCpp/Model.so':

main() in libR?
libR seems to include a main() function. Should it?
I'm hoping this simpler question will get more of a response than my
previous post about R a la carte :)
The evidence that libR includes main() is two-fold. First, when I use
nm, I see the _main defined. Second, when I run a program linked to
libR, the main R shell takes over, even though I have my own main (in
another library).

2.8.0 on Mac: libR.dylib
I use a Macbook Pro laptop, running OX X 10.4.11. I have been running R
2.7.1 with no problems for years, including installing packages such as
chron, Cairo, Design.
Today I downloaded R 2.8.0 from my local mirror in Australia. (The md5
result matched the code on the download page.) I then used
R CMD INSTALL to install separately-downloaded versions of chron, Cairo
etc, as I have done with

Rserve needs (but cannot find) libR.a (or maybe it's .so)
I have successfully installed Rserv (http://stats.math.uni-augsburg.de/Rserve)
on Mac OS, but I have trouble on two different linux platforms.
R CMD INSTALL Rserve_0.3-10.tar.gz
fails with this message

Fwd: Rstudio R-devel libR.so
Dear All,
I am actually on R-devel using shell consol. When I run RStudio, it can't
find libR.so in the new /lib folder where is libRblas.so libRlapack.so.
At first step I configure R-devel to share library with ./configure
--enable-R-shlib.
when I copied libR.so from /usr/lib/R/lib/libR.so (stable version R 3.1)
to /usr/local/R-devel/lib/libR.so (R-devel version), That doesn't work.

problem in linking to libR.so with R 2.5.0
Dear All,
I tried to write a C++ program that uses R internals and I encounter
"undefined reference" error when linking to libR.so. Here is an small
example of the program test.cpp:
extern "C" {
#include <config.h>
#include <IOStuff.h>
int main(int argc, char** argv)
{
R_IoBufferInit(&R_ConsoleIob);
return 0;
}
}
I built it using:
g++ -o test
