Driver dpt_i2o
Hi! I''m trying to install XEN on my test machine because running it on cdrom was too slow. Well, that test machine is a dual P4 with hyperthreading, 2GB of RAM and scsi controller dpti2o. I read the Xeno-1.2-HOWTO.txt, and compile xenolinux without problem, but xen appears to not support dpti2o. Am I missing something here? Another question, when the machine is at grub menu, we can

Xen is working, thanks!
Well, it''s running about three days with two virtual machines without any problem. Thanks all and congratulations! I notice that xen0 doesn''t have SMP support enabled. Does it make sense enable SMP on xenU? -- Flávio Bruno Leitner <fbl@conectiva.com.br> [ E74B 0BD0 5E05 C385 239E 531C BC17 D670 7FF0 A9E0 ] -------------------------------------------------------

no scsi in 2.6.7-xenU?
There is no CONFIG_SCSI to enable in xenU. Is there any reason for this? I want to try out iSCSI and obviously it needs scsi support. Or would I be better doing it in dom0 and exporting it? thanks James

memory and cpu usage
Is there a way to discovery how much free memory I still have to use in a new domain? Another question is about cpu usage. I guess that xen scheduler allocate a fixed time slice for all virtual machines and does not make any idea if the virtual machine is using or not using all this time, right? How I can identify if CPU is the bottleneck? Thanks! -- Flávio Bruno Leitner

Problems booting 2.6.7 Dom0 with 3ware Controllers
I tried to install and boot a 2.6.7 Dom0 xenLinux Kernel on an SMP (Dual-Xeon) Machine with 2 3-ware Controllers installed (1 4-channel Controler and 1 8-channel Controler, both Parallel ATA) and no other HDs present (except the ones connected to the 3ware controlers, of course). First of all I got a compilation error after activating the SMP option in the kernel config. After deactivating the

CORRUPTION: /lib/tls corruption with ELF prelinking
The current /lib/tls support in Xen/Linux through rewriting faulting instructions seems to work well, but for one rather nasty issue. If you are running with /lib/tls on a system that also uses prelinking (you can check this by looking for e.g., /etc/cron.daily/prelink) then you''re /lib/tls libraries will get corrupted! The problem is that the prelinking changes cause some of the binary

Migrating RHEL 3 to Centos 5.2 - has Adaptec 2400a RAID
Greetings all. I'm new to the mailing list. Hope to get to know many of you. I'll jump right in with a recent project. I have a machine with RHEL WS 3 - Taroon; plus dual boot to Win 2000 Pro. The RAID card is Adaptec's 2400A w/128 megs cache, running RAID 10 on 4 WD's. I want to migrate to 5.2 Centos and wipe the NTFS partition. I have the 5.2 Centos DVD. Anyone see any

Problem with tor2 driver and Zapata Tormenta 2 Quad T1/PRI Card
Hi All, I'm having a bit of a time getting my Tormenta 2 card to actually be seen by the system. Whenever I modprobe, the kernel spits out the following (in addition to the "insmod tor2 failed" messages): Invalid Xilinx 8 bit Base resource Registered Tormenta2 PCI Of course, the module says that its registered a Tormenta2 card, but it unloads the driver and frees related

Debian Etch doesn''t boot 2.6.26-bpo.1-xen-686 but 2.6.26-bpo.1-686 works fine?
Hoi, I am trying to get a 32 bit Debian Etch system up & running with kernel 2.6.26 from backports. The system boots fine with 2.6.26-bpo-1-686 but cannot boot with 2.6.26-bpo.1-xen-686, see below. The Xen kernel loads the disc controller (dpt_i2o) OK and detects the RAID array successfully but still can''t mount its root filing system. Any ideas? kind regards, Jan Begin: Running

CentOS 4 - i2o_block - Adaptec RAID
I know I saw some other posts on this in the archives, but I wanted to see if there was any new information. I have MANY Intel servers (SR1200, SR1300, etc.) that are using the Adaptec 2010S, 2100S, 2110S and 2120S SCSI RAID Controllers. They are currently running CentOS3.4 and everything works great. From what I know, these cards should be able to use the i2o_block driver which is part of the

adaptec 2100S drivers
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, I've got a server that I'm rebuilding and I've been given an Adaptec 2100S single channel scsi card to use. Problem is I can't find drivers for CentOS 4 anywhere. So far I've tried the adaptec drivers on the install CD but when it comes time to use disc druid it doesn't see the array that I've setup. don't

Serial ATA hardware raid.
Hi everyone, I'm looking into setting up a SATA hardware raid, probably 5 to use with CentOS 4. I chose hardware raid over software mostly because I like the fact that the raid is transparent to the OS. Does anyone know of any SATA controllers that are well tested for this sort of usage? From what I can tell from googling, this is more or less where RHEL stands: Red Hat Enterprise Linux
