Driver dpt_i2o
Hi! I''m trying to install XEN on my test machine because running it on cdrom was too slow. Well, that test machine is a dual P4 with hyperthreading, 2GB of RAM and scsi controller dpti2o. I read the Xeno-1.2-HOWTO.txt, and compile xenolinux without problem, but xen appears to not support dpti2o. Am I missing something here? Another question, when the machine is at grub menu, we can

Xen is working, thanks!
Well, it''s running about three days with two virtual machines without any problem. Thanks all and congratulations! I notice that xen0 doesn''t have SMP support enabled. Does it make sense enable SMP on xenU? -- Flávio Bruno Leitner <fbl@conectiva.com.br> [ E74B 0BD0 5E05 C385 239E 531C BC17 D670 7FF0 A9E0 ] -------------------------------------------------------

dpt_i2o almost there
Hi all! I''m using make world as recommeded and it compiles fine, then changed the dpti2o config option to ''y'' and recompiled with ARCH=xen make. The xen0 freeze on reading dpti2o tables and I can''t get any output with sysrq (enabled too). Compiling original 2.6.7 works fine. Any idea? CORRUPTION: /lib/tls corruption with ELF prelinking
The current /lib/tls support in Xen/Linux through rewriting faulting instructions seems to work well, but for one rather nasty issue. If you are running with /lib/tls on a system that also uses prelinking (you can check this by looking for e.g., /etc/cron.daily/prelink) then you''re /lib/tls libraries will get corrupted! The problem is that the prelinking changes cause some of the binary

rsync backup hangs at boot
rsync seems to work fine copying from the running system. Files match as far as a random check. I've been hoping to simplify life by rsyncing from the running system to have a bootable backup. Most conversations on the list suggest this is easy, and I've gotten it to happen, and now I've forgotten to do some detail.... ( /etc/fstab is corrected to refer to the device

Root-NFS not mounting using PXELinux - error 101
I seem to be having trouble getting the NFS root filesystem to mount after the kernel boots. As per thread from 2002 16 January (http://www.zytor.com/pipermail/syslinux/2002-January/000028.html), I double checked my DHCP config files, but to no avail. It cannot seem to attach to the mountd port on the bootserver. Here is some output from the kernel: loop: loaded (max 8 devices) Intel(R) PRO/1000

No subject
Samba mount (from one of our build scripts). We decided to upgrade to RedHat 7.2 (which uses a newer version of Samba -- 2.1.1b IIRC), maybe that fixes the problem. However, I decided to submit this bug report, in the hope that it may help kill some bugs. (Remember -- the only good bug, is a dead bug :)) So, here is the dmesg output: Linux version 2.2.16-22enterprise

Slow disk access on Dell Latitute with ATA/ATAPI-5 T13 1321D
Hi... I have a Dell Latitute with an ATA/ATAPI-5 T13 1321D and it would seem that my disk access is extremely slow. I have the latest updated kernel from RedHat 8.0 kernel 2.4.18-27.8.0. Somehow I think it is related to the UDMA stuff (shows my level of understanding). I have run hdparm and although I think I should at least udma level 5, I have at most udma2 listed. Is this a kernel

Samba and non-ascii characters
Hello everyone, I have a problem with smbmount. After I mount a certain share, I can not view files with weird charaters in their name. This happends for example with the copyright char. After searching with Google I still didn't find an answer. I guess it has something to do with a 'charset' command, but I can't figure out wich one, and what character table I should use...

isolinux 2.01 bug with Compaq and Promise BIOS
I have a Compaq something with a PII-400 and an Intel 440BX/ZX/DX chipset. I put in a Maxtor Ultra133 PCI controller (which is a Promise PDC20269, same as their TX2) and connected the hard drive thereto. Before we go on, I should say that I **hate** both Promise and Compaq. I wouldn't actually BUY this junk. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, as they say. :) (An old idiom I grew up

xeno-1.2.bk compilation question?
The system is Mandrake-9.1 Linux wih gcc-3.2.2. I am trying to compile xenolinux-2.4.24 (with vanilla sources from ftp.kernel.org for linux-2.4.24). The steps of mkbuildtree ARCH=xeno make menuconfig ARCH=xeno make dep produce no errors, but ARCH=xeno make bzImage results in following error messages. Any pointers will be appreciated. -ishwar --- gcc -D__KERNEL__

[PATCH] ioemu: enable Cirrus VGA emulation
At some point the Cirrus VGA driver was commented out. Probably for debugging. The patch below adds it back in. It works just fine. I'm afraid that I am at a loss here. I am new to Asterisk, and have successfully set up SIP. But I cannot get my FXS card working, and I'm not sure what else I can try. # modprobe wcfxo /lib/modules/2.4.21-37.0.1.ELsmp/misc/wcfxo.o: init_module: No such device Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
